Anyone else making the trip to Pittsburgh?

I was at the last Canes game at Pitts old stadium (what a dump). Met a bunch of crazed Canes fans tailgating. Had a great time.

First TD ever scored in that old stadium was by a Pitt fullback who later became Miami's longest serving head coach: Andy Gustafson. It was back in the 1920's. Some trivia. Also, bet you did not know that Coach Gus later became the head coach at Virginia Tech, before he coached at Miami. Some more trivia you probably did not know. In fact, you probably did not know he was called Coach Gus. In fact, I'll bet you never even heard of the guy. You're probably too young.

He did coach Chick's grandfather, Nick, at UM.

I'm driving in from Stoney Creek - I went to the last Pitt game as well. I'm going to the Gator game for sure and hoping the wifey will let me take a road trip to the Thurs night game in NC. She's prego though, so never know what the hormones will tell her to do lol.

Just out of curiosity...does your name have to do with Sport Specific Training? This will be the girls first Cane game, finally decided she wont stop hearing about them until she decides to be a Cane fan.

We need to make a road trip yearly with all the Southern Ontario/Central Ontario Canes fans to a close game.

There are a bunch of Canes in Montreal, too.

I hear that often too, still would be sick to just get a bunch of Canadian Canes to hop on a bus or two for a road trip to a game.

Great. A bus full of Canucks talking crap to Pitt fans about how many meters Duke Johnson is going to run for.

I'll make sure to bring my conversion chart ;)

I was born in NW PA. Its like Canada without the monopoly money anyways.

Just saying when I turned 19, being close to Canada was a pretty sweet deal!

It has its perks, its okay since then we've now made scratch and sniff money

Mark May played at Pitt. Nuff said. I was there a few years ago when we played up there. Not bad around the stadium. Their fans are pretty rude. Which makes since, because their team sucks.

Nickkcin - I own the SST in Hamilton. There are a few owners that are all Canes fans so we took a road trip to the last Pitt game. I'm excited about this season so I'm going to get to as many as possible this year.

Right now they're talking crap to Pitt fans about how many goals Jason Spezza is going to score on them.

Its basically the same as going to Pro player stadium or whatever its called now a days. Heinz field is the same.
Stale college environment but a lot of good beer drinking.
Pitts old stadium was a dump just like the OB was, but it was a special dump.

Yes they are. Their fans are jerkoffs, in every sport.
