In case you guys forgot, this is the same Curtis Porter who was out most of last year with a "finger injury".
Not necessarily One-legged football playerI had my leg amputated, and was kicking FGs 2 weeks later.
You do have two legs for a reason.

Has nothing to do with being "tougher". I just didn't think the recovery period was so long.

Classy post.
It has more to do with him being behind on practices, genius.

It wasn't a "finger injury" it was a very severe infection, with concern that he could lose the finger if not properly treated. Thus, he was not medically cleared to play. It's amusing that you want to question Porter's toughness and dedication from behind a computer.

When I got my appendix removed I was fine after a week. I was back in the gym about 3 weeks after. I don't see what the issue is here.

I admit, I was unaware of the severity of the infection.
Everything I've been told by friends of mine who are current and former student athletic trainers, and have worked with the football team, leads me to believe that Curtis Porter has a tendency of being "soft".
That being said, I am by no means rooting against the kid. I want him to succeed just as much as any of you.
It's just a frustrating situation being that we are so thin at the DL position and the quicker he gets back to playing the better off this team is.
Only took a few months for this site to revert back to Grassy.
What a shame. Had potential.
Some guys are just unlucky when it comes to injuries. Porter didn't ask Marcus Robinson to fall on his legs and jack his knee up. He didn't get a staph infection because he's soft. He didn't get his appendix removed because he wanted out of Fall camp.
Just a string of bad luck.
The guy can play.
When he's cleared, he'll be able to help us.
