@Chickillo71 Thank you to my man man @tmphd74 for always having a plan to help me reach my goal weight #ThankUMonday

ThankUMondy is the gayest **** yet with regards to this program.

Mope City is too cool to be thankful?

Don't be mad bro.

So Chick gets double teamed WAAAAY more his junior year than he did his freshmen year, yet increases his tackles from 38 to 46, from 15 to 25 (solo), tackles for loss from 6.5 to 7.5, goes from 0 to 2 pass deflections.

He has a total of 129 tackles, 20.5 for a loss, 12.5 sacks over 3 seasons. Just for comparisons, Dee Ford was the #23 pick. He had 93 total tackles, 27.5 for a loss, 20.5 sacks....in 5 seasons.

Chick will be fine in the draft barring any crazy injury.

EDIT: corrected seasons Dee Ford accumulated his stats from 4 to 5 seasons.

Ford is a 6'2 255 lb guy that runs a legit 4.5 with a bunch of athleticism. Chick will play at 280 lbs this year with pretty limited athletic ability. Both high-motor guys…but to compare them based on stats is just not fair. At the very best, I'd say Chick will be a 5th round guy. That would be if he has a great year and outperforms expectations at the combine, IMO.

Not to mention…Ford gained almost 40 pounds since his freshman year…so he was playing out of position much of his time there.

sam is a 3-4 DE/LB that can't cover. are they really the same guy?

Sam is the SIZE of a 3/4 LB but has the skillset of an inline DE...thus his fall in the draft.

Chickillo is a different sort of tweener. But I think this board has swung too far against Chickillo. I think he is a mid-round (4th or 5th) guy because he will be a system fit for 3-4 teams who won't have to teach him a new position AND he is pretty strong, disciplined, team captain, etc.

This. He may not have met the expectations some had for him, but he's not nearly as bad as some make him out to be. He's also always on the field, so he's never playing with fresh legs. The season review on the team site shows career snaps by returning defensive players. Chick has played 1967 snaps in his 3 years, Perryman is 2nd on the list at 1563 and Pierre 3rd at 1088. That's a **** of a lot for what he's asked to do. The fact that he plays with as much energy as he does is amazing.

We actually have someone comparing Chickillo to Dee Ford.

Ford's AU Pro-Day numbers were similar to Jadevon Clowney in regard to 40 time, broad and vertical jump, and bench press.

Good god.

I'm with you, Ford waaaay more athletic and can def outrun Chick. Their numbers are very similar despite that tho.

To clarify, I don't believe Chick will be a first rounder, more like 4/5th rounder. A great year can move him up slightly. Also depends on the amount of need and number of eligible players.

But those who think he has not improved are short sighted.

Yeah, cuz their actual football stats are that different. It's right there in black and white homeslice.

No one said Chick and Ford are the same players. The statement clearly states "FOR COMPARISON" followed by FOOTBALL STATS.

Not speed, strength, broad jump, vertical jump, long jump, short jump, foot speed, arm length, etc.

It ranks pretty low on the list of things for me to complain about. Player wants to thank the PhD from the U for helping him or his mom or jesus --- the **** do I care?

I would love it if Chick had similar production his senior season (11.5 Sacks and 19 TFL). I would take that in heartbeat.

sam's stats were inflated though, he had 9 sacks in the first 3 games and leveled off. still, i get your point.

Not trying to make a *** reference but has anyone noticed how similar Chickillo and Michael Sam play?

Both have a high motor but lack of athleticism. I was just watching Mike Sam highlights on ESPN today and he looks identical to Chickillo.

Before his JR year when I scouted Chickillo, I would have put a mid 2nd to high 3rd on his draft grade.

After seeing where Sam was drafted I would put a low 6th to high 7th on Chickillo barring a HUGE SR season. Really made me sad realizing Chickillo was either under developed or over hyped.

Do you think he can thrive at DT cause I think that's where the staff will move him..

Ford had almost as many sacks last year as Chick has had in his career, so again, not sure I get the comparison. Chick's sack total has decreased every year. You think Ford didn't get doubled all the time his senior year? There is a reason one went in the first and the other will maybe be a 5th rounder likely at best. Talent. Athleticism. Ceiling.

As a matter of fact, Ford played 5 season. So those stats are actually more alike than initially thought. You are right, those high numbers came in his 5th year.

As explained earlier, it was a statistical comparison. It doesnt mean they are the same, it doesnt mean they have the same skill set. It means they produced similar stats during the same stage in their careers, which is only 1 component of the analysis of a player.

Chick hasnt been drafted yet. Let his senior season play out before stating he will be drafted in X round as a finite statement.

Your right, they were nothing alike. Chick had WAY better production his first 3 years.

Most statistical comparisons are

chick will be drafted as a mid rounder.

I'm expecting another solid group of numbers for him, with a solid all star/combine circuit he can pull up to a fourth rder. He will have the Miami pedigree as well plus interview well. If Kamalu plays like i think he can Chick's numbers can go up as we move him inside on passing downs.

Hurns was a surprise to me as he had the Miami pedigree but i guess just slip through the cracks as a wr. UM players on d with solid stats usually dont slip through cracks....Chick will have a role as a 4-3 end or maybe even a 3-4 end in league.
