Another Game rewatch thread

What does everyone think about how we will match-up against, what looks like, much more talented FSU team?

FSU's defense pales in comparison to the GATA. Easley might be the best defensive lineman in the country. Fowler and Powell would be the best defensive lineman on FSU's squad. The GATA 3rd best corner would be the best on FSU. Of course, Winston makes FSU more capable offensively, but saying that FSU is more talented is simply wrong.

According to a NFL draft website I visited yesterday, the Gators have 3 corners (Purifoy, Roberson, and Watkins) that are 1st-3rd round picks.

The point that the original poster made was that UF had three corners that would start over all of FSU's corners. Purifoy would be the number one corner at FSU but Roberson nor Watkins would start over Lamarcus Joyner. But both teams are loaded in the defensive backfield.

Hargreaves is already better than all 3 of those guys, and Tracy Howard is a better corner than Hargreaves.
I didn't say a better athlete. Tracy doesn't have top end speed, but now that he's comfortable in the speed of the game, he was the best corner in that game on either side of the field.

Perhaps but Roberson, Watkins and Hargreaves are all at least 3 inches taller than Joyner. Why'd FSU move Joyner back to corner?

It would be silly to write off FSU's defense so early in the season and so far away from when we will play them. There is a lot of time between now and then and they have good players. Their offense will likely be a lot less inept than the Gators, so it will be a different game plan. I'll start to worry about them after we beat UNC.

If I had to guess it will help his draft stock. Jeremy Pruitt's new defensive scheme probably had a lot to do with it as well.

Shayon had a great play forcing fumble off burton near the end of the half

He also had the tackle for loss on the reverse and he was the first one to hit Driskell on the 4th down stop!

Just saying!

Although I did cringe when he dropped in to coverage!

He does look like one of those seniors who has turned the corner.

right on the money!
two things u said-
1. green is a liability! I feel like im taking crazy pills when i see him on the field.
2. L. robinson was beasting it up. dont be surprised if he starts next to porter!

You might have to rewatch the game if you think Green played poorly.

Some guys will get ragged on by some of the fans no matter how well they play. Same thing with Gaines last year.

I agree with this over the Shayon is garbage comments. I see him as being much more productive this year. He is making more plays in the backfield. In coverage...turrible. I don't get why they would ever put him in that situation.

Shayon, Rodgers, Cain, Gaines, Cornelius...all had their moments so far this season, and we are only 2 games in.

There is a difference between calling it like you see it and having a pre-formed narrative.

The cavalcade of retarded recruits who said Tracy was 'suspect' (or retweeted it), lmao. He was elite in that game.

I don't think anyone is writing off FSU's defense... they will most likely be the 2nd best defense we face all season although VT's front 7 looked good against Bama. All I think anyone said was that UF's defense is probably the BEST we will see all season. UF's defense will probably be one of the best in the country so that is no knock on FSU. They have a ton of talent and will likely only lose 1 or 2 games all season. And I agree, Winston, and their offense will likely be a much greater challenge than Driskell's. But hopefully for us new guys like Gilbert/Renfrow/Kamalu have adjusted adn gelled in our D and guys like AQM have grown up some and have more of an impact and maybe we'll finally have Deon Bush back. Our D looked good against the Gata and still has alot of room to grow and get better.

The thing I agree with most though is worrying about other teams before FSU... we still have a long time before FSU. Hope our boys focus, stay healthy and throw a couple of beat downs out against USF/GT/UNC... The new few weeks will be interesting as we start to get a feel of how good each team will be.

I'm not suggesting anything; merely underscoring jerzey's post that UF's defense is loaded.

Disagree that Dorsett was running open. Any examples because I rewatched the game and their CB had our WRs on lock down. Walford was open a decent amount and Morris failed to take advantage of that.

Green, who played OLB the whole game, may not be smooth in his drops but he was extremely effective vs the run. Gilbert did a nice job as well.

Our nickel/pass rush group in AQM, Chick, LRob, McCord. They did a good job of getting pressure in those situations. Chick played a monster game overall.

+1 Spot on!
