When a local 5 star DE says he wants to go OOS, a competent staff will keep recruiting him until NSD. When a local recruit ranked as the 54th best WR in the country (and 13th best WR in the state) literally tells a reporter that he has zero desire to stay in S Florida, then a competent staff will move on to another WR. The staff only has a limited amount of time and resources to recruit. Why in the **** would you think it's a good idea to waste valuable time on a mid-tier local WR recruit who has publicly stated he doesn't want to play for Miami?
If he has a change of heart and personally reaches out to UM to say he wants to stay home, then great, welcome him with open arms and put him back on the recruiting list. If not, move the f#ck on to another WR who is interested. You and some others have Diaz Derangement Syndrome (DDS). He's gone. Let it go. Not everyone on his staff was incompetent. Likens is a good WR coach and evaluator. If he wasn't recruiting him hard, he likely had other targets in mind (like in 2022 when he got K. Smith out of San Diego) that were interested in playing for UM.
