Andrew Chatfield Talks Recruiting After Opening Regional

Did a Google search on him and got this commentary from a Gator reporter:

Chatfield, 6-foot-2 and 260 pounds, struggled to find playing time in his first three seasons. He redshirted in 2018 and played in nine games in 2019, primarily on special teams.

The Plantation, Florida, native did appear in all 12 games last season and made 13 tackles, 2.5 sacks and four tackles-for-loss. He made a couple of tackles against Georgia and sacked Alabama quarterback Mac Jones during the SEC Championship Game as his playing time increased down the stretch.

Still, the odds weren’t in his favor for an expanded role this season. Brenton Cox and Jeremiah Moon are listed as co-starters at BUCK on the unofficial depth chart, with Khris Bogle as the top reserve. David Reese, Antwaun Powell and Lloyd Summerall have also shown promise.

The Gators also have several linebackers who can slide into the BUCK spot if needed, including Mohamoud Diabate, Chief Borders and Scooby Williams.

Chatfield will have three years of eligibility remaining at his next school.

Lloyd Summerall is a name I remember too and it looks like he is kind of flaming out as well. Looks like most posters were right about ole Chatfield. These bumps are always interesting to see what people thought of a recruit in the moment. I remember Chatfield being very polarizing.

Weird that he is in the portal the week before the season starts. Was he waiting to graduate or something?

Isn't he the guy who posed in pictures with his fat dad wearing the Gaytor uniform?
 
Not surprised to see him in the portal...but surprised by the timing he entered the portal.

Summerall would be a glorious gators tears bump…. If memory serves me right him and his dad were the ones all dressed up in uniforms for their photo shoot right? Lol
 
Talked to someone in the program over at UF… they’re not very high on Summerall/ Bogle who were misses for us at the time.

chatfield wasn’t a take, so no ill will towards him. Wish him the best

If it make you feel any better, that's probably the only projection I got right over you sitting in my comfy armchair while you're out on the field coaching. I think I bat around 67%, and that's after allowing CIS to screen out all the chaff. You bat like 85%+ filtering from the raw masses, which is Butch level.
