Now that's a running back, holy **** I love this kids running style it reminds me of gurley

Amir Rasul is also cousins with current Miami Runningback Joe Yearby.

A poster here did mention Rasul was openly rooting against Miami vs FSU. Is it true? I have no idea. I was at that game and ran into some recruits and family of players and recruits but I didn't run into Rasul.

Now what is true, this kid had mentioned in the past that LSU and Oregon were schools that he really liked and were his favorites.

Color me surprised that he committed cause from this kids words from his mouth it seemed like it was going to be a hard pull for Miami despite being in our backyard at Coral Gables High School.

Mentioned him before and some others have as well. - https://www.canesinsight.com/thread...-Rasul-Junior-Highlights?highlight=Amir+Rasul

Rasul was on the weekly highlights for South Florida football just about every week. This past season.

This is another one of the ironic commits to me again like Joseph Jackson as I was talking about Rasul this morning as a prospect in a thread Finchlion started about speed.

I know some here have mixed feelings on Amir Rasul for 2016 from Coral Gables.

Some think he is raw as a RB which is true but I think with the right coaching and development. He will explode in college. Yes he is getting by on his athleticism and speed right now as he is raw at the RB position but he has unlimited potential.

Funny as I mention about Rasul today in this thread, he committed to Miami today.

I love the take. You can't teach the size and speed he has, is he a natural RB yet? No but the athleticism, speed and size are all there.

IMO, think Dexter Williams type of raw.

He's electric, fast, athletic and big. Very smooth runner too, looks effortless. But he is still raw from the RB position and will have some fine tuning and learning to do. He is beyond worthy of a take and his ranking will go up on recruiting sites, that's for sure.

Despite being raw he is South Florida's best RB prospect for 2016.

Here is Rasul's junior highlights - http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1931505/highlights/158343380

Rasul transferred into Coral Gables for his junior year from Colombus. Originally he was going to transfer to Booker T going into his junior season. When Mark Walton was transferring to Miami Central for reclassifying but Walton decided to return to Booker T and Rasul ultimately wound up at Coral Gables.

Although Rasul is still raw from technique at the RB position. His ceiling and potential is extremely high. He has also tested in the forty yard at times of a high 4.3 as well as 4.4

Rasul has made strides and has improved every year, I do want to see him take that next step and become more of a complete RB than just an explosive athlete next season though as a Senior.

Huge get for Miami. Unlimited potential and a Cane Legacy Rasul is being Joe Yearby's cousin and if I am correct, family with Dredrick Snelson as well who is Yearby's nephew.

As for Deon McIntosh. McIntosh is an electric and exciting player who makes a lot of nice plays out of the runningback position, but I have touched face on it before with others who have seen him too. We agreed he is versatile but it's not for sure yet if he will be a RB at the next level. I view him more as an athlete right now. Will play offense in college, could be RB/WR and play special teams.

I'm pretty positive McIntosh will be in the class though. Staff has already been on him.

Richard and Deon are not even the best in their family. Dmoney showed me the little brother Kenny McIntosh, class of 2019. That kid will be reeling in offers from around the country.

Their little brother is huge for a kid coming into high school. 6'2" 185. Plays both sides of the ball. I think he will be a safety.

Regardless of whether he sticks, Rasul looked great to me in his junior highlights. Had that thread throughout the season where I'd post updates on Canes commits/targets in action and he caught my eye as much as anyone for 2015 or 2016. I'm admittedly a sucker for freak athletes who can fly and take it the distance from anywhere on the field.

These are exactly the types of recruits we need to be prioritizing. I've been vocally critical of this staff for not placing anywhere near enough emphasis on speed across the board. If we're able to keep Scarlett away from FSU and follow that up by bringing in Rasul a year later, that brings elite home run ability to an offense that needs more of it.

But the possibility of losing Scarlett and failing to hang onto Rasul seems very real as well, unfortunately. Not getting my hopes up.

2019? 6'2" 185? Safety? Kid would have to stop growing this year to play safety.

Some kids are early bloomers and some late bloomers. Some kids just stop growing by the age of 14 after they hit a spurt.

I mean his brother Richard is a big kid, legit 6'4"-6'5"

Deon, 5'11" might be a little generous.

Had no idea they had a little brother till me and D$ were having a convo and it came up when I mentioned Major Wrights little brother. 2017 safety Dan Wright at Cardinal Gibbons when I watched them earlier this year.

Dug up a little more and tried to find more on him.

Apparently Rasul's uncle is Cane Great Alonzo Highsmith.

If I am correct too. Rasul father Amir Rasul Sr. played at FAMU and was drafted in 1991 to the Buffallo Bills in the 7th round.

Really liking Rasul's athletic bloodline. Related to Alonzo, Yearby, Snelson? and his dad made it to the nfl.
