ROFL, alot of y'all in here want to continue to be clowns, surtain said what he said about coach rumph because he knows 1st hand that coach rumph is a top notch coach. The ones in here who know football would know out the gate that when they brought in coach rumph, coach diaz did to coach rumph basically the same way he did jess simpson, most teams have one secondary coach, diaz wanted to bring in his guy banda, which already challenged secondary synchronization from a philosophical stand-point that naturally brought on limited control for coach rumph and banda had more say-so with diaz because he knew the defense. Add in the fact it was coach richt who was the one that brought in coach rumph and rightfully, giving a True Cane a coaching opportunity at UM after having proved, like the Great Miami coaches before him, how to be a dominant highschool head football coach, and his impact was felt immediately his first year with the corners, but was even more vital the next year.
But the clowns in here still don't understand and are still mad at coach rumph because those 2db's chose to go elsewhere, in the mean time, all coach rumph and banda we're doing was coaching up the #1 secondary in the nation, many in here looked past that. In the meantime, in their misguided disdain for coach rumph, the ULTIMATE failure the clowns don't realize is simple. 2 secondary guys that played under and we're coached by rumph at the highschool became "5 star* recruits, all of a sudden y'all now are saying coach rumph a of a sudden couldn't coach this is why surtain didn't send his boy here is one of the DUMBEST things y'all have come up with yet.
Thankfully surtain sr. is not a shallow thinker like most on this board, the real Truth and why his son was crying on signing day was because he wanted to come to UM, him and campbell, they luv coach rumph, but what many in here who keep volunteering to be morons failel to realize is surtain sr. wasnt worried about coach rumph who had already proven his worth him, surtain like many who know football down here didn't trust a fired manny diaz scheme, being giving another major opportunity at UM, but prior to UM, can anyone of the coach rumph bashers name any prominent db's that have ever come out of manny diaz coached defense.
Also, I like blake baker the person, but he was definitely a weaker d-co than diaz, but to go back to that UNC game, was it really all blake baker's fault. I'll give coach diaz credit for the way he handled the baker situation by not out-right firing him up front, that would have made him the ULTIMATE hypocrite, it's not hard to figure out:
On September 7, 2013, the Longhorns' defense, under Diaz, gave up a school record 550 yards rushing to
Brigham Young University, including 257 to quarterback
Taysom Hill. The following day,
Mack Brown described the defensive performance as "unacceptable" and relieved Diaz of his duties as
defensive coordinator.
