Berg went on a radio show this morning. Confirmed Mims did not commit to FSU and that the visit really starts today. Yesterday was just checking in the hotel and dinner with the staff. Says he feels really good about where FSU stands and we will see if he takes a visit to Miami. Said the FSU visit will stretch into Friday and maybe Saturday morning.

If this is true then he's not here for the Spring Game. Of course, grain of salt because this has been a crapshow for their reporting.

We will know soon either way.

He can’t stay through Saturday though. He would have to end the visit Friday evening. He only gets 48 hours for an official visit.
 
No sources at all but if you think about it logically. A kid like this knows he’s going to get a big bag. There’s next to no chance he takes the first offer without seeing what else he can get. I say next to no chance because there’s always the chance FSU’s desperation wins out and they absolutely blow their load on him.

He quite literally can’t be on FSU’s campus past Friday night (forget Saturday morning) if yesterday counted as the start of his OV. It’s a 48 hour turnaround - so unless they’re saying it officially starts today and not Wednesday night - Newberg is missing several brain cells (we knew this already).
 
This might sound like a sour grapes hedge but Im not sure he benefits FSU as much as he would here or anywhere else. Their passing game remains a train wreck.. The only thing Jordan Travis does well is break runs with a collapsing pocket.. he can not throw and their receivers can not catch.. Giving him a clean pocket is not a great thing for their personnel. You heard it here first.

That, or mom felt the offer was good enough. So regardless of Miami's offer she wants him close to home, and convinced him to just accept and commit to FSU. You never know people's motivations. Sure makes recruiting interesting!
