I agree. I think it’s time to drain the swamp a bit here as well. Not your fault. Intellectual honesty and accountability are rare these days.
I agree with everything you have typed here, except for the second sentence. DOGE is a constitutionally questionable (and potentially dangerous) idea.
The Department of Government Efficiency was established solely by executive order and without regard for the APA. On that basis alone -- as an American who generally disapproves of "government by agency rule" -- I immediately disapprove of the idea. I've had debates with friends/family/lawyers about the perils of executive agency rule for decades (regardless of which party was in the White House), and I guess it's just something I need to acknowledge I'm apparently in the minority on (though I suspect most Americans have no actual clue about the amount of power some of these agencies can wield). I'm prepared to acknowledge the sheer size of our country and population may make some reliance on agency rule unavoidable, but I'm not prepared to abandon the APA and Congress's role in the creation of such agencies.
As far as DOGE's purpose, I'm very suspicious, to say the least. The EO claims the purpose of DOGE is to "implement the President’s DOGE Agenda, by modernizing Federal technology and software to maximize governmental efficiency and productivity." If it was simply a question of implementing everything coming after the word "by," I'd say (Constitutional questions aside) I might be able to get behind it. The complete lack of transparency regarding this "DOGE Agenda" is troubling, in particular following several other EOs further empowering DOGE and making it pretty clear DOGE is not really concerned with "modernizing Federal technology and software," but about slashing government based on the President and Musk's (undisclosed) agenda. February saw several EOs to this effect, including implementing the President's "workforce optimization initiative" (read as mass government layoffs) "deregulatory initiative" (read as defunding various administrative agencies), and "cost efficiency initiative" (read as a empower federal spending freezes). Constitutionally, this is particularly concerning because Congress is the branch of government that controls the federal purse, and DOGE appears more and more to be an encroachment on that Congressional authority.
And from a purely logical/philosophical perspective, I'm also highly suspicious of the notion that in order to have a "smaller" government, we need to temporarily make the government bigger (by establishing a new executive agency).
Since I typed that last post a lot has happened.
It’s a super right takeover and civil liberties are totally being destroyed under the guise of protecting borders. Executive actions for everything as if the guy is trying to ´save’ us? With the exceptions of renegotiating some needed international deals (which has instead been to withdraw from globalist allies, needed aid, or economy ), or needed improvements on the border which Biden was a disaster (those current actions are further trying to root out any ideological dissent more than border protection and attacking universities who aren’t ‘American’) basically even the other things i was hopeful with for trump besides the initial good DOGE idea have been awful so far.
It’s so dangerous what’s going on as well as the disregard for any judiciary/congress, this has already been a disaster with transparently autocratic intentions. Trumps good ideas are getting in the way of his unchecked flood the zone desperation for autocratic power. At this point the guy isn’t even hiding his intentions.
Agencies blindly being destroyed as well as key research and even clinical trials? Are you kidding me and again as I said without any agency scientific decision making outside of key political words that Elon and Trump don’t like?
People being fired for performance when they had no performance issues? People being fired and rehired? Please someone don’t tell me that saving the budget by removing a few social security offices in geographically poor areas is improving society.
The democrats have nearly been total garbage in responding with maybe the exception of Sanders. It reminds me more of why Im so apathetic to it but then what a mistake that has been given this train wreck. Basically one side is fake Christian and fake libertarian while all being in trumps pocket and the other side is basically the big money and useless version of the other and incapable of problem solving it (and further justification for why MAGA and this mess has gotten away with propagandizing the **** out of the world given how society’s justified mistrust led to voting for such a circus. Neither party has been worth it for decades and that’s why you see people resorting to believing in this mess. They would take ANY change.)
You have to be clueless to vote democrat but you have to be desperate or totally morally (or just generally )checked out to believe in this current mess.
The updates from DOGE only happens AFTER they cut and only bring up identity politics stereotypes as reasons for it. The hundreds of other problems they are creating/cutting are being disregarded to the main media outlets and only focus on people’s cultural phobias again AFTER implementation. Zero input or thought processes PRIOR to the mess are being relayed to congress, the judiciary, or the public. Therefore DOGE qualifies automatically as a failure.
And I didn’t even bring up what you wrote to emphasize the failure.
Obama created DOGE but it was a good idea then I guessI agree with everything you have typed here, except for the second sentence. DOGE is a constitutionally questionable (and potentially dangerous) idea.

USDS was nothing like DOGE
Both parties are complicit in the state of our union. The difference with Trump is even though his policies and beliefs lean right, he’s not beholden to either party and gives zero ***** about the swamp rats. And I'm sure since then, Congress passed similar budgets
Heck, how long have they been doing CR??
It was created. You also heard what Obama said about it. Almost exactly what they are actually trying to accomplish.USDS was nothing like DOGE
US Digital Service was nothing like DOGE trying to do now. I’m surprised this is still up.It was created. You also heard what Obama said about it. Almost exactly what they are actually trying to accomplish.
The fact is Obama put Joe in charge of it because it was all for show. We are going to look at this so people think that with the real intent of using it as a slush fund to spread Marxist chit.
@No_Fly_Zone gave a thumbs up I don’t know why because he is wrong also too then. At least it was less than 4 pages
Yeah I was thinking what Obama signed and put Joe the launderer Biden in charge ofUS Digital Service was nothing like DOGE trying to do now. I’m surprised this is still up.
