As obvious a question as this may seem. I can't recall it ever being asked........where has the U historically had the best players?

I'm thinking it's Defensive Tackle; Jerome Brown, Tez, Sapp, Maryland, Big Vince, et. als. Obviously not so much on recent years, but historically, I think this has been the heart of the team.....at least the great teams we've had.

Arguments for other positions?

BTW, if I was lookimg for the answer "Doggystyle" I would have posted in the WEZ.

You could make an argument for DT, LB or Safety and be solid. Probably also RB and WR. Maybe TE. WE have some good OL too. lol...impossible request is impossible

All true.....its funny, because we use to be known as "Quarterback U".......but a legitimate argument could be made that we have historically been better at DT, MLB and S.

QB. We've had some great QB's come through

Although we are probably most known as TE U.

We had a succession of MLB that all went pro and most were All-Pros

Ray Lewis - Nate Webster - Dan Morgan - Jonathan Vilma - Jon Beason (MLB in NFL) - Daryl Sharpton - Colin McCarthy

Pretty much impossible to decide. An argument could be made for every position other than OL.

Defensive end? Ever hear of Ted Hendricks aka The Mad Stork? Best player I ever saw in person.

We are the best football factory ever. No one is really even close.

Or CB. It is incredible that South Florida pretty much produces CB as well as any area of the country, and we've produced more NFL talent than any school in the last 30 years, but our list of NFL CBs is relatively tiny.
