CJ Richardson......#19. Starting Strong Safety on the 1993 and 1994 teams.....dude was a straight headhunter. He was one of my all time favorite 'Canes.

Bernard Clark
Maurice Crum
Darrin Smith
Michael Barrow
Jesse Armstead
Jon Vilma
Vince Wilfork
Robert Smith
Charles Pharms

Did you just make a list of the hardest Cane thumpers and leave Sean mothaf#@kin Taylor off? That's almost as bad as making this list with Glenn Cook #1! I'm tempted to fire up my neg-hand, but I'll refrain due to the nice effort you put in. Please do not make this mistake again though.

Actually I'll +rep you for putting my boy Grim Reaper on the list.

Another guy who was a big hitter was KWII, I know he was on the offensive side of the ball but he played angry and would dump truck people pretty often. The guy was also a MANIAC on special teams early in his career.

He's also a Soldier! I do like his attitude about the U.

LOL that **** never gets old!!! Ever! As much as people like to clown that interview i guarantee A) No one within a 100 yard radius would've said one word about it to his face and B) It fired up everyone in that lockerroom...and instantly dropped the panties of any female within earshot.

KWII all-time great.

I'm relative young (22) so I can't go back as far as most on here, but the most exciting defensive players I have watched and that always seemed to hit monstrously were Jonathan Vilma, DJ Williams, Rocky McIntosh, Calais Campbell, Marcus Robinson, Ray Ray Armstrong (while he played, showed great promise. Some people might argue the the last three but I think they all made their case well known for being hard hitters.

Nate Webster would straight up strike yo ***. So would lots of others in this thread, but Webster would follow up by driving you into the ground and proceeding to punch you in your yam bag while trying to rip your eyeball out with the other free hand.

To me, good hitters can stroke ball carries who SEE them coming as well as any offensive player who comes into their area. Anybody can lay a guy out who can't see them. (i.e a WR coming across the middle) That's why I can't put BM on the list. The one time an offensive player saw him coming, he got treated like a little boy. (Quincy Wilson)

With that said...

Perryman (hardest hitter I ever seen in a Cane's uni, seriously, dude strokes anything in his way)
Vilma (even though he got embarrassed by Pitt's QB)
Ray Lewis
Webster
Spence
Sean Taylor

Sharpton was a good hitter as well.

Anybody before those guys I don't remember. Too young.

I know the big guys don't get a lot of love here because they don't have the open field shots on their resumes, but there are a few RBs that would definitely send a write-in vote for big Vince Wilfork. No way will Leon Washington forget what Vince did to him.
