Alex Collins at FSU Camp

Hate to say it, but we are probably going to lose him eventually. I'm thinking Turman is more likely at the moment.

#2 player in South Florida on my list. #4 player overall over the last two years. Top 5 player in the state. Could walk into a campus as a natural, inside runner at 210+ pounds... with top level acceleration, cutback ability and vision.

Listen, hot ******* have tons of dudes chasing after them, doesn't mean you settle for a pig...means you step your game up and get yours. Let the staff do work, after last round, they should be getting the benefit of the doubt.

Is that Jameel James kid commits to FSU then we will not have to worry about Collins leaving unless he decides to go to Wisconsin.

I hope not. First, we have no depth at RB right now. Collins could come in and get some serious reps from Day 1. That should be appealing. Second, i haven't been overly impressed with the films i've seen of Turman. He looks solid, but not elite or special. Reminded me a lot of Mike James...which is good to have as a 2nd back but we still need to get the Millers, McGahees, etc....which is what Collins is.

The reality is that, unless it's grades, we should simply win a battle for a player like Collins. Doesn't make a f'in difference who goes where. These battles are the ones that separate good from great recruiters.

+100. RB depth is a problem. You want 3 healthy kids rotating at RB and 2-3 behind them ready to step up in case of injuries. We have 3 pure RBs, Dallas Crawford, and Hagans who is most likely now a pure FB although he did run for a ton in HS. That's not great. Collins is a must have, and far more important than getting 3 DTs, a DE, etc.

Again, +100. Lots of great talent at RB in FL this year - not getting one of the top tier backs would be a big time failure.

Well it's a good thing he's committed to the 'Canes then, isn't it?

Hearing FSU staff is on him hard. Good as gone

Well then UM's staff should be on him harder. I'm tired of hearing UM fans crapping their pants when FSU comes calling. Sometimes we make it sound as if we're little brother taking FSU's sloppy seconds. I do not envy AG; not only does he have get rid of the feeling of entitlement with the players, he also has to get rid of the inferiority complex of the fan base. I will say this though, if in fact AG and company are not all over these kids, then I'll have no problem making the trek from Cleveland, pitchfork in hand, and clean house.

Agreed. Kid is still committed to the Canes and the staff wont just give up. Miami has more positives going there way when discussing RBs vs. FSU . One is history at the position, better OL play, a coach who is more committed to running the ball, and less competition right now. And that is not even mentioning the fact that Collins' mom wants him at Miami.

**** we really need to show a better product on the field this season. With some impressive wins or upsets, we can go a long way in convincing some of these guys that are gonna be battles like Collins and Matthew Thomas that we will be back under Golden. Losing Collins at this point would hurt equally as bad to me as it would be not getting Thomas. Duke and Collins 1-2 punch??? Oh my

Kid reaffirmed his commitment to us also. Some of y'all fret over the smallest bit of negative info you hear. This is big boy recruiting.

People get so bent out of shape because of "updates" in f'n JULY.

Just setting themselves up for a roller coaster ride. Which is why I don't ever get too involved with recruiting until December/January

So true, but hate already hearing grades may be an issue. Seems like if grades are an issue for us they would be for Wisconsin as well. F$U on the otherhand not so much. Get in the classroom Alex and get your **** grades. Would love to have a 1-2 punch of Collins and Duke.
