If we talking about now then Harbach is a **** of a lot better than RIcht. He has a better record at Mich than Richt as at Miami and he stepped into a bigger mess than Richt did and he is in a MUCH tougher conferance. We are in argubaly the weakest Divsion in the P5. MAYBE the B1G west is weaker. They are in arguably the strongest Division.

In what year does Harbaugh have a better record? Also don't forget we would've had 11 wins last year if we played 12 games in the season.

They certainly do. You can make fun of Harbaugh all you want, but he brought a garbage Stanford program back from the dead all the way to being ranked 4th overall. Did well on the 49ers. He is not doing as well at UM as most would hope, but Penn St is back to being strong. MSU is strong for the first time ever. OSU is always strong.

Penn State almost lost to App State and is in no better shape than we are. They get hype from playing in the overrated Big10.

Bro, sorry but you're freaking RETARDED if you think Miami's staff is even close to Michigan's. They have 4 ex NFL coaches, Three ex Head Coaches,four ex coordinators, a Super Bowl coach and about 3 times as many years coaching as we do. We have a bartender (6 yrs ago) Two HS coaches in their second and third year of coaching College football, we have QB coach in his 4th yr ( 3 of them at Miami) of coaching, we have an OL coach that has been fired 3 times, and DC that's been fired 3 times. Oh yeah, a Head Coach that couldn't do in 15 yrs what the new coach of his old school has done in two. Both in recruiting and getting to a National Championship game. End of story.

Alabama upped the price of the brick in this era of college football. Saban and the Alabama infrastructure has shown how perpetually lazy and slothful most of college football has become in their methods.

I'm not even upset about the situation.

College Football is a billion dollar industry and schools are still nickel and diming facilities, assistant coaching staff, and support staff...and, ultimately, nickel and diming the student athletes. Step up your game or get left in the past. Its happening to us right now, as we argue about this **** for the past 15 years.

agree with Boxing here. Miami has upped their game but is still way behind the big time teams. We are finally getting an IPF and our coaching staff is very inexperienced compared to the elites.. OSU has former head coaches everywhere along with Bama, and Michigan etc. Sometimes a HC loses his job but to get there his resume had to be pretty good so putting them as a position coach is going to trump most other hires.

Yes, clearly Saban has chosen Richt and doesn't want to land guys like Cooper, Ridley, Jeudy and Ingraham on their own merit.

Bottom line, we are fighting a perfect storm in Saban. He did whatever it took to win, and once winning became the norm, he had the two most enticing things in the Country...we win and if that doesn't do it, talk to Booster X, he'll explain it to you.

Richt isn't that guy on the sidelines, unfortunately, and he will never get into the mud with that type of recruiting...though we don't have the booster network for it anyway. Then there's the lovely Emmert connection for Saban, where he is the only one that ever comes out of the recruiting mud squeaky clean. Literally a freakin coup.

USC has a lower rated recruiting class than we do and are losing recruits to Oregon. Great post.
