Al Groh @ GT

They said GT has 6 seniors in their front 7 was it? that and experience at DB make for a major difference

As far as that goes, thats scheme. There taught to eat blocks up not get up field ala Saban

They eat up blocks in blitz packages. But not on 4 man rushes.

Nah, first play he didnt bring heat, after that he was bringing five. On the last play he bought five and had the safety in position he missed the tackle and allowed receiver to gain atleast another 10 yards to get in field goal range

That really isn't saying much. Their D from a couple of seasons ago was about as bad as I have ever seen, relatively speaking.

Seriously guys.......do a little research. D'Onofrio was a linebacker coach for Groh in 2005 and Golden was Groh's D-Coordinator for his 1st 5 years at Virginia (01-05).

Golden knows what he's doing and I'm pretty sure D'Onofrio will be fine too.

Gotta know how to teach it. I have yet to see that from Coach D - but from all accounts he sure does love to yell, scream, ****, and moan. Just sayin

Fwiw, our 2011 total D was almost identical to GTechs and had a much better scoring D. Also, Groh has been in the hot seat for his defense at Tech.

Sometimes I wonder why people make these posts without seeing the whole situation.

If true that should worry us more. We run a poor mans Al Groh system. We gon get raped
