Let's just be happy for him. He's an ex-Cane and he tried.

He will never be considered “an ex Cane.” & he absolutely did not “try” here. In fact, he started isolating himself away from former players, & he went on a hiatus, holding us hostage as he tried to backdoor his way out of here w/ a mediocre 9-4 season. Refused to make any changes to a defense that absolutely wasted talent here.

Fck him, fck his award, & fck his happiness.

Golden ran freeman’s defense
Dawson scored despite Mario’s bro ball
Dawson hands down deserves broyles over golden

But wait, there's more....wasn't Dana Holgersen the real genius behind the offense at Houston? I heard he pulled play-calling duties from Dawson too....that's what I read on this forum.

Tried harder than lazy *** Randy Shannon.

False
In fact, he started isolating himself away from former players

He was lauded for asking former players to come back as opposed to what Randy Shannon did.

Put down Penn state resorts immediately and relentless.

Absolutely right

Eh, I'm ambivalent.

How about no... His best wasn't good enough, and I don't have to be happy (or mad) for the guy.

LMAO. Just busting balls. IDGAF what Goldie does. He's not with the Domers and I'm pretty happy about that. I know he ran Freeman's system ,but still. A new guy will have to learn it all over, and they have different players running the scheme. Week one may not be long enough for the replacement. So I am happy that Al influenced this. Good **** on Golden.

He can go **** himself, though.

Goldens fatal flaw was his unwavering support for Dorito. His defense worked at Temple but didn’t work here. He needed to move on from him. I still think he can be a good head coach but like at a Rutgers, Wake type team.

Mario has a lot of gaps. But if you're going to argue Dawson overcame the brofense, then you also have to concede Mario gifted him Ward and now Beck.

Stop the cap, blood. Richt was the one who invited the players back. Anyone capin’ for Golden is straight weirdo, & that’s on God.

This. I don't know if he knew or didn't know about the Shapiro situation and NCAA investigation when he took the job. He claimed he didn't. If so, we kind of hosed him. So I was super supportive the first couple of years despite him underperforming. When he disappeared trying to get the Pedo State job and then kept Dorito and then sued the school, he showed his true colors. F him.

He could identify tight end and linebacker talent at the high school level.

Thus concludes my positive remarks on Al golden.

Right… he used to work here, that’s it. Was hired to do a job, didn’t do it very well, was fired (got his $2M buyout), tried to sue us for another $3M and LOST.

But folks want to embrace him and call him a former Cane. What he allowed Clemson to do us on national television and the “p*ssy boy” photo shoot he let slide was bad enough but the law suit makes him persona non grata round these parts for me. What’s wrong with yall?? Fr.

Exactly that’s Mario’s job
To get the best ingredients
And then let’s his coordinators cook
Once he gets that he just needs to step out the kitchen

But…. The job of the CEO/HC is to hire competent people and get out of their way but he also needs to know when and how to intervene. He had two coordinators who were producing very differently
but he chose to treat them the same… be hands off, which was bull****. He spewed that “professional courtesy” stuff when Gattis was on his way out the door.

You pay someone 7 figures to a job you have every right and responsibility to ask questions and intervene to get **** fixed… not allow your guy to wreck the ship because he’s well “the coordinator” when he’s clearly off course.

Debatable. I think Shannon tried harder in certain areas and Golden tried harder in other areas. Regardless, they both stunk and were stubborn in their own ways which were extremely detrimental to the team.

I don’t know who was worse between Shannon, Golden, Diaz. Depends on the day for me. Regardless, I can’t ever defend Golden for his time here. I don’t hate the guy, but I don’t have many good things to say about him.
