Al said "i am flattered but i am not a candidate" that means he pulled himself out. If he was rejected, he wouldnt use that language

That does not mean he puled out. That means he is not a candidate, whether that me now or before. It does not mean he was not trying. It does not mean he was not rejected. It could mean Ped St narrowed their list or he did not want to meet their demands (namely getting rid of dorito).

They opted for Munchak and Golden ran back here like a wounded buzzard.

If I were Blake, I would fire D'Onofrio tomorrow!!!

"I am not a candidate for another position."

Says all I need to know...Penn State turned him down.

Yep just like Briles and Mora said about the Tx job then a few hours later reports were released they offered the job to Strong

You guys are ridiculous with this crap about Golden turning it down because PSU did not want Coach D. If PSU felt that strongly about Coach D they would have been up front about this and this whole thing would have been squashed days ago. We do not even know if Golden expressed he wanted to keep D or if talks even progressed that far. It's all pure speculation. And before you retort, yes I want Coach D gone as well. He is terrible and Golden better do something about that situation.

this

bye! take a nice long break from being a miami fan and then do us a favor and don't bother coming back

LMAO, any real Miami fan that cares about the program wouldn't be blindly supporting this fat used car salesman. Im ashamed that I supported him for as long as I did. LOL, keep sipping that punch though.

Is it in the contract that he can even do that or was part of the deal that Golden had the say in staff matters? Doubt you know that question.

Do you realize how hard it would be for an AD to hire anyone if he up and decided to do the coaches job??

Jesus Christ how blind are some of you? How deep in Fat Al Golden's bull**** can you possibly sink?

Welp. It is what it is. We really don't know what happened. My guess is that AG listened to their offer and for whatever reason he chose not to do it, or he wasn't offered it.

My guess is that he pulled his name out based on whatever the offer was. It's also possible, and I said this the other day, that AG got the offer and decided to sit back with his family over a couple of days and decide if this was the right move for him. I mean this was his alma mater and dream job. He may have felt be owed it to them and his family to think it over for a few days. From a PR perspective it hasn't come across great but I still think he can salvage most of the recruiting class with some honest sit downs with these kids. He can tell them "look it was my alma mater and the job I always dreamed of having so I owed it to them to give it serious consideration with my family, but in the end I believe too much in what we are doing here at Miami and I'm committed to this program and so even though it was PSU, Im hanging tough because I feel we are in the cusp of greatness."

I think he can spin this to the kids and come out looking good over it.

The FANS is another issue though. I don't think he's going to give a big discussion over why he didn't take or get the gig. And even if he did turn it down, the guy obviously loves PSU and he will NOT embarrass them in any way. We may never know exactly what went down, but it's time to move on.

We need to salvage this recruiting class and hope things get fixed on defense

He's going to be our HC next year so let's hope for the best and keep the incessant *****ing under control.
