Al Godlen claims he is "seeing quads"...

LMAO, at everyone blaming golden for us not landing most so fl kids. As soon as Golden starts winning ( I truly believe he will) you two faced fans will be all on his jock. GO Canes!

Of course if he starts winning people will be on his jock. This isn't a you like golden or don't like golden issue, it's a we want the Canes to win.

I'm calling bull****. There are many people that do not like Golden and don't want to see him do well.

Those people say - I'm not anti-Golden, I'm pro-Miami, just like the racist says I have black friends after he uses the N word in a negative way.

I know this is off topic but is there a "right" way to use the "N" word? just curious

I don't think so, but apparently some people think so. Rappers. Football players. Slang versions of it, I guess. Depends on who you listen to.

Duvalco is a deeply troubled bigot. Its sad.
Lol. I'm a bigot because I just watched Ebron go first round as they played extended clips of the dude running free, absolutely abusing Gulden's defense. But yeah- I'm a bigot. Lulz and giggles...

Golden is making some players some money in the draft.

Ebron had a very nice game against us. Also went for over 100 two other times this season. NC lost all 3 games, including that one against Miami.

I just like what Duval said in his long rant because we will, see AG sent away from this program if we suck this yr. I hope to see us improve, I dont care who the coach is. I do not think his contract extension or any of that will keep him around if we **** the bed this yr. I would say 8-4 at a minimum or he will be shown the door. And that is fair. He has shown improvement, he has moved the program further along than the last two guys. I mean lets not kid ourselves, for the first time in a couple of hires there will actually be coaches wanting to come here. We will have a lot of pieces in place. There is some serious talent on this roster. Talent to win some **** games. WTF did AG have or even RS for that matter?

Its a long offseason when you **** the bed at the end. I just say, its not a coincidence that our teams play went down hill when Duke got hurt. But hey thats just an excuse......

Golden won 9 games with this talent im fine with him

Never heard you say this before. The talent was 9 wins quality. It wasn't an amazing output.

Agreed. 9 wins but they were against SSU, FAU, 2 win USF and UVA and 4 win UF and Wake in nail bitters.

Other 3 wins came against 7-6 teams UNC, GT and Pitt. Weren't competitive against anyone that finished with at least 8 wins.

Not exactly anything to brag about.

God I hate to point out the obvious, but did you watch us last year? The year before?

Did you watch our last game?

Then why in the **ck would you suggest "when he starts winning?"

Anyone who thinks that the win against Florida wasn't impressive because they finished the season with only 4 wins is ******* retarded.

This board needs a heavy dose of...

Great post. Maybe. Some of these chica's will take your advice!

While I typically agree with you he's coming off as a *****.

Like it or not Al is from the Joe Pa system and philosophy. Joe Pa aimed at contending for an NC every 4 years(see seniors). That is unacceptable to Canes who want to contend EVERY year. Joe Pa won TWO, as in 2, NCs in FIFTY(50!!!!) years. In Happy Valley that made him a god. Bobby did about the same in Tally and was merely a saint. At THE U, both would have been fired. Larry won one, went undefeated two years in a row, and got cheated out of another -- fired a few years later. This is THE U and the crap we are seeing doesn't float. Doesn't matter if coach is nice old white guy, hard luck story local black dude, or slick Yankee clean boy -- you play in the NCs or get to steppin. ****. we wanted to fire Butch--remember -- and if he had stayed and not won NC the next year, he would not be the hero we make him. Remember his coaching weaknesses not just his recruiting greatness.

I was all in on Al for a long time. Started to wavier at the KSU game when he blamed players for the first time to cover for Mark. Beating the gator made him a god again but I got really upset later when he pitched Duke under the bus for a couple fumbles but continued to swear by his defensive system and friend. I really don't know why we are getting beat out on top players and REALLY don't care. Al is a fine man, by all accounts, but winning and winning BIG is a job requirement at THE U. That has not happened and the horrible finish last year destroyed my hope that he would. Last year's recruiting class was very good but should have been better. This year's class has a very bad feel to it.

Al's career is spinning around the bowl and is about to be flushed. I hope he realizes that the only way to not go back to assistant coaching is to field a team that goes out and resembles a Hurricane football team. He needs to kick rear and not even bother taking names to show he can indeed coach. Al took the UFelon game personal last year and team reflected that, looking like a Cane team for the first time in years. Now he needs to bring that personal affront to every game, scrimmage, practice and meeting. I cannot think of a great HC that was not feared by his team more than liked by it. Nice guys win when they have a team anyone can win with -- see Larry. Shula, The Bear, JJ, Saban and so many others made players pee themselves but gained respect by winning.

Watching Al on the field hugging Lewis still makes me tear up, BUT I want to smile not cry. Al, please be a little less great guy and a little more sob PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember when Golden was preaching that he was going to show the south florida kids how bad he wanted them by letting them enjoy the process and waiting on them to the very end? Guess getting kicked in the nuts changed his thought process, huh?

From what I understand, he was asked about an early signing period and he said he was for it. That it helps both recruits and schools and saves resources. He indicated that the word commitment was baseless all around now and that last year he saw players committing/decommitting up to 4 different times or schools. Felt the early signing period would improve the value of commitment by both the players and the coaches.

Wish this was posted earlier. Thanks.

I think for football the current model of signing day is fine... It's a game of egos among coaches and players... Too be fair, I think the power houses would benefit the most from a early signing period... At least the current model gives you the opportunity impress kids who were initially down on you earlier... Lets be fair, we lost some prospects but we benefited as well... This really shouldn't be an issue for Al and an early signing period would probably not benefit him at the moment... Everyone loses prospects... Just win...
