Al Blades and Tennessee?

I do agree with @franchise though. The issue is not being a Cane or not. For a "Blades", leading the class and being vocal about it should take priority over enjoying the recruiting process.
He's been leading the class from the get go, he was the first ambassador, even before Frierson & Lo.

You all just don't have any patience & don't know what you don't know.
LOL at an Ambassador who publicly decommits. You guys are stretching that Ambassador title too much. There's one Ambassador--the great Mr. Lingard.
Even before Lingard committed Blades was recruiting guys to Miami & helping build the class since last year.

Just because it's not done publicly doesn't mean it hasn't been happening for a long time now.

Either way, it's not worth arguing with you over it, when he does commit just make sure you give him the proper respect he deserves.

OP should be banned for this. 5 ******* pages about Al Blades Jr. going to play Wide Reciver at Tennessee because Kevin Beard coaches there.

How do you know he's not?

Vocal about it? Recruiting other elite HS prospects while he is not publicly committed to the school? He could be a silent commit, I'm not questioning that. But being silent doesn't help recruiting others especially out of state elite talent.

Yeah, thats not true at all.
What not true at all?

That him being a silent and helping recruit isn't helping us with other kids. He's vocal behind the scenes with kids were after or current commits. They all have a huge active group text going on for months.

Thank you for sharing. I'm not an insider so I go with what is done and said publicly. Looking from the outside, you would think it is hard to convince kids to come in when they see that you publicly opted out. That's all I was saying.

It's true, I don't know much when it comes to Al Blades junior. I could only know what is publicly said. But so are the vast majority of diehard Canes' fans.

lol Franchise has always been an entitled clown on this site... wouldnt be surprised if he and his flock arent secretly on some form of government assistance.

I'll be happy if/when he commits. What is the proper respect he deserves? He's just a kid getting a super valuable scholarship to my alma mater who decommitted once and took a long time to recommit. I'll prop him up when I see him doing work loudly and publicly for my alma mater.

Serious question for all (not being sarcastic), but do folks really not understand the whole Fathers Day thing?

I think it's perfect.

Now I don't know if Blades has been the "leader" for the class or if he's been recruiting guys, so I'm not saying who's right or wrong here. Franchise DOES make very valid points which would apply to 99% of recruits.

However, it's more than just a rumor that he's going to commit on Fathers Day. This would go down as one of the GOAT commitment moments for the program, the way it would honor his father. So why not just give the kid until then to start the complaints?

If we get to next Monday and he's not committed, then have at it. But lets just see what happens this Sunday. Could be a special moment for the kid, the Blades' family, and the University of Miami.

The reason is that we have fans that follow this team that are quick to always look at the glass as half full. According to this board I remember when Richt was bad hire, Manny Diaz was joke of a D Coordinator, Banda and Rumph weren't qualified to coach, Hartley didn't look the part......etc. We can be our own worst enemy at times. I realize we have been burnt in the recruiting game in the past few years, but we are getting elite talent to consider us again. When you play with fire like that you are bound to get burned a few times. Everyone gets burned. I hated the Byrd, McFarland Jr., Edwards, and Henderson flake outs just as much as everyone else. But I am so happy that it happened because we are stacking chips. Be a CANE or get beat by the CANES.

Doesn't Father's Day occur every year? Why didn't he commit last Father's Day?

Listen, man. I like Blades as a prospect and hope he commits and has this big dramatic event on Sunday that will have everyone welling up. I've got nothing against him, and I hope he commits and starts publicly repping this U hard. I'm just not one for events and nonsense.

Not sure where you're going with the whole "last year" thing, so I'm not positive on how to respond. Just that it's his call. :noidea:

However, the rest of your post is absolutely fair and I don't disagree with you one bit. Count me in as one of the posters who's not a fan of Richt's strategy of having kids (silents) commit at strategic times. Potentially asking for trouble.

My only point was that this kid isn't some jabroni from Maryland, so I actually believe the insiders when they say he's already on board and to watch out for Sunday.

Look, I ain't even gonna lie. I am 100% with Franchise on this one. As an alum, it does wear on me that any guy (regardless of the fact that he's, like, a triple legacy) chooses to play games instead of being plain-spoken about his intent. Hey, I UNDERSTAND why Blades is choosing this day to announce, but I certainly would have liked it to have come sooner (was his father's birthday any sooner?).

Obviously, all may soon be forgiven, but I'd like to see that Blades name on our commit list as soon and as long as possible. Even Bennie is saying that he is "90% to UM", I just don't understand what that other 10% portion is, considering the long legacy of UM with his family.

Just my 2 cents on this particular issue.

Father's Day is every year. If he was about making a splash on Father's Day, then why not last year?

Chise you gotta be realistic here too though. Realize the fact that he committed to the previous clown posse in itself is a testament to the love he has for this university. Honestly it was really hard publicly pushing kids here & supporting that decision knowing the people in charge were basically sabotaging kids, especially on the defensive side of the ball.its just where we were. All that being said al is very much a mommas boy & she was the one vocal about **** um. She wants him to make a decision that's best for him regardless of where that may be. All that said he's coming to um period.

I don't doubt that he's coming here. I'm just not going to get all worked up over a guy who decommitted from my alma mater and hasn't recommitted publicly. That's all.

If his mom is telling him to look around that wouldn't surprise me. South Florida moms are notorious for wanting their kids to move away from them.
