Go be great Ajay best of luck.

Assuming #6 isnt here next year, do we get a big back in the portal or slot Lofton in as short yardage back?

Taking Lyle and Pringle last two cycles - two sub-200lb backs - strongly suggests to me that Coach knows we need to be more explosive in the run game and get to the edge more.
Think you have to try and do something. Lofton was our RB1 in spring, lol. But what do you do in 2-3 TE sets?

Do you tell one of these lesser portal guys they can come in and compete, then put them behind pringle?

This is a recipe for disaster no matter which decision you make. All you can do is pray no injuries really and take 2 or 3 next year.

I mean CWH is really thin don't know how he will do here. But we'll see just can't afford any injuries at all next season
I think we can afford one injury, but I hear you. I would be more worried about bringing in someone and that leading to someone on the roster wanting to leave. Time to let that room show what they can do and spend our dollars elsewhere.

Expected.

Not surprised but didn't fully expect Johnson. Down to 4 RBs.. now I'm thinking you need a portal kid or maybe look and see what is left in the HS ranks for February
Was thinking that too but I forgot how good Lofton was for us as a RB in the spring

Yea at this point we can't bring in a portal guy to be 3rd behind Fletcher & Lyle. Our best hope is Pringle is ready to go early and we can feed those three backs next fall

Not saying he was handled wrong- lots of talented guys in the room and only so many Carries to go around.

That said if he’s smart and goes somewhere that he can play he will ball out. We never got peak AJ. He never got into the flow of games.

I expect big things for AJ. I love the way he plays.

liked him - he did well when called upon
again - SMU would be a great landing spot for him tbh

Nay Allen is a baller he can be somewhere better than SMU can get to a SEC or big ten team and get a ton if yards

dude always made plays and he has nice quicks. they should have used him a lot more then we did . just plain dumb on our part. watch him go to Ucf and blow up . hes a perfect fit for what Frost runs.

Then definitely need another TE. Which I think we do either way.

Unless Schott is like 100% ready to go day 1 in the same level at a higher level role than Lofton had year 1

Good points. I would get a bigger back in the portal, as I worry about Fletcher holding up if the plan is to give him the lion's share of #6's runs inside the tackles.

I'd still like to see them try Lofton at RB a bit like the SC/FSU TE his last year at SCarolina.

In the TE room, hopefully Riley Williams doesn't portal and Schott is ready to get meaningful snaps flexed out
