I live up north , so I have the undistinct pleasure of listening to Mike Francesa on my commute home. He was on with AJ talking about his career, Saban, and other crap. He said even though he grew up in Alabama, he was actually a Miami Hurricane fan growing up.

The brand is strong my friends. We will be back on top again someday.

Seems to be the trend these days. "Oh I love Miami but I'm gonna play for FSU or insert any SEC school" #FML

And yet I remember us trying to get him down for a visit, and he never did. I hate recruiting.

We won a ship and played for another when he was 11 or 12 or so. We have gone an entire grade school 1-12 for the current recruiting age kids without being significant in any way, shape or form. That is why we are pushing uphill so hard. Between that and the stadium, its not looking so hot.

Not his fault but the Randy Shannon hire was such a mammoth phuckup, the right hire in 2006 woulda saved us all a lot of headaches

It is true that AJ was a big Canes fan. I trained a young man who went to school with him and said he was crazy about Miami.

Born and raised in northern nj... I can't stand Francesa. Hope he croaks. I don't know how you can listen to that smug mutha fcuka!

But you are completely right. The brand is real strong. Especially in northern nj and ny. Kids love Miami.

instead of insipid posts such as op's, could you just post pics of McCarron's gf/ex next time? thanks! oh, and negged.

Read the SI article about AJ and Bama about 3 months ago - iirc, he drove around in a pickup with Miami stickers on it (and heard about it since he;s from Alabama) and his room was wall-to-wall U stuff

I cant stand him either...luckily I only have a 20 minute commute home and there isnt much else for sports radio. He's a freakin know-it-all and is incredibly disrespectful and condescending towards his callers....then Jim Nance will get on the phone and he'll drool all over himself.
