AJ Legget

HES THE ONE GUY THEY NEEDED TO PULL WITH ADMINISTRATION....

i think it will be the ncaa clearinghouse................though...because a 2.2 CORE and 22 act means hes good to go.his core likely goes up also...by the time he graduates with night school or next semester...strange situation..............tryna figure why the heck are coaches TOLD HIM though.....like they completely probably killed his hopes...its BEEN noted that he went to about 4 schools....just strange....and he has VANDY on his list ....

if he gets into any div 1 school other than marshall.............its a L on Golden's mark in my opinion

Sounded more like they new he would get flagged by the clearinghouse and were honest with him about it and he decided to look elswhere. I have to believe he's going to be a clearinghouse casuality anywhere he goes.

This. I believe his only option will be Marshall since it has a prep school/JUCO as part of the university. If he cannot clear the clearinghouse he cannot play anywhere.

If he gets in anywhere but Marshall I'll be disappointed and it needs to be looked at. We can't have players get into FSU and * and not Miami and think its okay. Golden should be able to get help with a kid or two every year.

Miami (Fla.) South Miami four-star cornerback Amos Leggett parted ways with Miami last week after speaking with members of the coaching staff in Coral Gables. The decision was mutual and due to Al Golden and company believing they would have trouble getting Leggett admitted and cleared.

"I have decommitted from Miami. I won't be playing at Miami," Legget said. "I met with the Miami coaches last week and they basically told me that involving the paperwork to get in, and with them being a private school, that I wouldn't be able to get in. It was basically that with them being a private school I would have trouble getting in.

"I want the coaches and the fans of Miami to know I appreciated all of their attention and interest in me," Leggett added. "I wish them the very best."

While Miami believes that Leggett is an academic risk, the Rivals250 prospect believes he has what it takes on his transcripts to play at the Division I level next season.

"I am qualified already," Leggett said. "I have a good test score and GPA. There is always room for improvement, but I am already qualified. I scored a 22 on the ACT. I have a 2.2 core GPA. I haven't gotten through the (NCAA) Clearinghouse yet, that is what I am working on now. I am at that stage now."

With his name back on the market, he is looking at a handful of schools.

"I am looking at Marshall, Ohio State, Florida State, Vanderbilt, and Nebraska," Leggett said. "Nebraska just came by today and set up a visit with me. I just left from Marshall this past weekend. I am supposed to be setting up a visit with Ohio State. I am supposed to be visiting Florida State in January."

He talked about his time at Marshall this past weekend.

"I really got to hang out with the coaches and the players," Leggett said. "They talked to me about how bad they want me. They showed me what it is like up there. I just felt real comfortable around the players. I feel I can go in there and make an early impact."

That visit did a great deal of good for the Thundering Herd.

"Marshall was my first official visit and I really liked it up there, so they are kind of standing out right now," Leggett said. "The visit helped them a lot."

Next up for Leggett will be a trip to check out the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

"I am heading to Nebraska next week (on Dec. 16th)," Leggett said. "I am not visiting anywhere this weekend."

Leggett says his final decision will come on National Signing Day.

**** this bull**** admissions department. If this kid can go to Nebraska or FSU, there's no ******* reason he shouldn't be able to go to Miami.

At some point the responsibilities lie with the kids to get the work done in the classroom. Fact is, AJs transcripts have to be a pile of garbage. Not just because of grades, but because he spent one semester at a school, then switched, and finished a class somewhere else. Eventually that creates a mess. It is what it is...never expected him to get in.

Tough loss for the team though, kid is a player.

he'll end up at Marshall. If he ends up somewhere else, moves like this cost teams players and coaches. Help Al rebuild, don't put roadblocks in his way

You are kidding yourself. He might get in one place.. O$U. But I'm banking on Juco.

A couple of things...First just because he has Vandy listed does not mean he will be able to get in there either second I think it great that Golden was up front with the kid about him not being able to get in..

Holding my judgement. If he goes to an FSU or OSU it's going to really hurt if grades related.

He must have a minimum of a 2.5 and a 17/820 to gain entrance into UM correct?
With a 2.2 he already at or near the bottom of the sliding scale..
