AJ Highsmith and Ty Cornelius

honestly, they are shannon guys and i cant wait for the program to be cleansed of them. along with morris and sentrel. tired of underachivers.
last 2 weeks who lead us back? where has the leadership come from? Duke, dallas, tracy howard, etc.

Why haven't they been recruited over by this point. Shannons been gone awhile now. There's no excuses not to have better players than both of those. And according to you golden should've recruited a better tackle and qb that where better than Morris and Henderson. Why hasn't it been done? Who's fault is that.

golden has a better eye for talent. no way he would have some of the guys in the last few classes that shannon had.

There was this investigation these last few years that made his job kinda difficult. Let's see what he does from here on out, but the early returns from this current class aren't to shabby. Golden hasn't been perfect but to downplay what has been going on around the program is ignorant, and that putting it politely.

the guy had sanctions over his head and in 2012 brought in jenkins, bush, tracy, waters, duke,kirby, crawford, gunter, flowers, mccord, macolm (who looked great before the injury) etc. those guys are our play makers.

He also recruited figs and grace along with eddie johnson, who unfortunately couldnt control himself otherwise he would have been all acc. Grace is not ready as far as strength. nice try but you are wasting my time with this argument. Kelvin Cain cant even beat out true freshman for playing time meanwhile he got alot of burn as a true fresh under shannon.

What does this have to do with recruiting better players who would gave enough of an impact to play over AJ and Ty? There have been ALOT of safeties and linebackers in both the 2012 and 2013 recruiting classes. Jayron Kearse who seems to be playing well at safety for Clemson, pj Williams at fsu, James burgess jr. At illegal, won't Inlude Keith brown who was a rest an all american at Louisville because he was trying to get his brother a scholly as well, Brian Poole at Uf,etc.... This is just SOME of the Florida kids btw without including any 2011 kids. That's just truth. There where many options out of state as well. But no need to list those.

That's great. Bring in better "character" kids if you don't want to have to get rid of them for smoking weed or whatever. You keep bringing up Shannon. Why? He's been gone for awhile. You say you want the "Shannon" kids gone. Ok so you want Stephen Morris who PRO SCOUTS/Crosscheckers are very high on, Brandon Linder, Feleciano, Wheeler, Allen Hurns, Shane McDermott, Seantrel Henderson, AJ high smith who many think sucks so why is he still on the team and playing, Why is Kelvun Cain still playing occasionally if he's not good according to you, Curtis Porter starting at nose Shannon kid so he's not up to par according to you, why is Luther Robinson starting but he's a Shannon kid. Clive Walford best tight end on the team but wait he's a Shannon kid so he's no good according to you. Why hasn't a better TE that could start over him been recruited?

You guys are acting like we have 5-star safeties that Highsmith is starting over. We play the guys we have...Highsmith was a QUARTERBACK when he got here. Not to many guys go from QB to Safety and become all world. He plays hard with the limited ability he has. 7-0!

You asked why havent Randy's players been recruited over, another poster replied and your retorted stated that Golden had 'no excuse' for not recruiting better players. I responded saying that he in fact did have an excuse. Never said it was all because the investigation but to deny that it had no affect is ludicrous. He got Jenkins and Bush in 2012. Burns n Carter last year with Ray Ray being a wild card. It's not like the man completely drop the ball there. Players were recruited and some were signed but they obviously aren't ready. Highsmith is playing cause Rogers is hurt n Bush isn't playing up to par yet.

Even though at this moment the program is in a better spot than it ever was under Randy and Coker's last days and you still do nothing but gripe. sanctions matter. my friend coached jalen strong, gerald bowman, and david williams. all were top players in the last 2 years. all three like miami and passed because they believed the ncaa was going to destroy us.

He really is a 4th string strong safety at best. Jamal Carter should be getting playing time over him.

I dont care how "smart" AJ is at this point b/c i would rather put Artie Burns in at 2nd string and he's going to make more plays free lancing then AJ is going to make being "smart."

Too be fair it has nothing to do with Shannon vs Al guys... Our best players are the ones playing... AJ has his limitations but he isn't as bad as many of you make it seem... Cornelius was responsible for a key sack yesterday... Theres a reason why these guys are starting if they were not here we would not be 7-0... That entire oline with exception of Flowers are Shannon guys... Our top wideout and tightend in Hurns and Walford were Shannon guys... Morris is a Shannon guy... Even Duke, dorsett and Chick committed to Shannon... That being said, everyone has to play better to maintain this undefeated streak... I wouldn't be quick to say, I can't wait til they leave because if the person behind them arent starting it's because there is a reason... Al isn't afraid to play the best player...

Maybe, just maybe, Jamal Carter looks worst than Highsmith in practice. I'm pretty sure if Carter was ready, Al wouldn't hesitate to put him in (i.e. Burns, Figs, Coley, AQM). I'm sure if we were able to see how these guys look during practice, like the coaches do, we'll have a different opinion on some of them. I trust the process, soon rather than later, Al will get those top tier safety recruits. When he does, it will force guys of Highsmith abilities to be scout team players.These next recruiting classes will get us to where we need to be. We getting there Zone

Have been for awhile now, but everyone likes to use them as the go to "excuse" for some reason. I mean ****, how many years will it be before it's let go. Dnofrios defense sucks, Shannons fault. I agree with alot of what you post as well, except this time. I understand the "cloud" but that shouldn't stop someone from recruiting good players. For as much as people like to ***** about Coker and Shannon, they got players almost everyone wanted at one point or another. Shannon got lazy and stopped recruiting at a high level very soon. But even he pulled in the number 1 class in 08. If youre saying now that the sanctions have been announced and the "cloud" is gone, Golden will recruit better. I guess we'll see, but I'll take your word for it now. I've said previously I thought golden did a good-very good job recruiting but it hasnt been great.
