Ahmmon Richards commits (2016)

Those highlights are impressive. Would be hard to play this kid anywhere other than WR. So much separation with what seems to be very little effort.

Other positions? Its only July 2014 and already got 2 stud LBs and a franchise QB....

Yes, are you aware of the other positions?

Here is a good example, we just lost 2 LBs (Figs and Blue) and 1 DB (Dortch). Perhaps we should get other positions besides WR and QB.

Early Commit: WR Richards to Miami

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By Wade Geraci

Miami (FL) is making a statement in 2016. With six ESPN Junior 300 prospects already committed and riding a wave of momentum behind quarterback pledge Jack Allison, Al Golden and staff struck again, picking up a verbal from long-armed wide receiver Ahmmon Richards.

Significance of impact: Miami pulling in No. 197 Richards at wide receiver on the heels of ESPN Junior 300 receivers Dredrick Snelson, Sam Bruce and Dionte Mullins is a sure sign that the Hurricanes are carrying impressive momentum close to home in 2016. Having four ESPN 300 level receivers is difficult to do in one class, but reeling in four from South Florida in the same class is otherworldly. That means Friday nights in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties are going to be filled with Miami commitments scoring touchdowns and receiving press, which only aids in adding to the momentum.

What he brings: Richards was very impressive at Georgia’s Mark Richt camp in June. He features very long arms for his height, can make grabs outside his catch radius with timing and surprised with his ability to quickly get into routes and accelerate. Throw 40-yard dash times out the window with Richards, as his football speed and ability to quickly separate make him one of the top receivers in this class.

Strength of commitment: Miami can feel very good with Richards' commitment. If he hadn’t stepped foot on other campuses and had a desire to do so, there may be reason for doubt. With the June 14 visit to Georgia in the books, Richards was in a position to make a solid early commitment.

Percent chance of the commit holding: 90 percent

Biggest threat: Georgia. Richards attended the Bulldogs June camp, and Georgia has offered. With his talent level, it’s unlikely Georgia or anyone else with throw in the towel 18 months from national signing day for the 2016 class.

What can be done about it until a kid who has two more seasons of high school ball decides to pull the trigger? What are you suggesting? They're not recruiting other positions and only paying attention to WRs and QBs? If you don't believe that to be the case express your concerns to the kids at other positions that you'd like to see commit.

I look forward to Mike Leach calling an offense with Allison at QB with all of these WR weapons.

I'm suggesting that we need to focus MORE on other areas. Do you not understand? It seems like a simple concept.

What does the bold mean?

A commit in area A means no focus on area B?

It's nice seeing someone stay at Wellington HS, which is where I graduated from. Kids with talent over the last decade or two have opted for Glades Day, American Heritage (Delray), Palm Beach Central, and occasionally King's Academy.
