New Surtain article per Ivins:

Miami head coach Mark Richt, cornerbacks coach Mike Rumph and the rest of the Hurricanes defensive staff sat down with Surtain Jr. and his parents on Wednesday. The U.S. Army All-American says there’s a number of reasons why UM remains in the mix to land his signature.

“Just the spirit they that have and how they are changing the program there. Coach Richt is doing a great job. His plan for me, I love that plan. I have that relationship with Coach Rumph also. He just said that I could make a big impact just by coming it would probably help bring The U back.”

Surtain Jr. was also impressed with how Coach Richt explained his relationship with his players.

"He's great coach. He told me a lot of things that I didn’t know about him as far as his spirit level with the players and what he does for them.”

The senior will spend the upcoming weekend in Coral Gables on an official visit.

“I need to see more of the school and more of the environment around the campus because I have only really been in the football facilities,” he said when asked what he’s looking forward to on the trip.
Oh lawd

Well you aren't going to like this but I figure someone is going to ask for the info.

Cane Sport just put out an update after talking to two separate sources regarding the American Heritage kids.

Silvera: 100% Cane per both sources.

Chatfield: Between Miami and UF and both sources claim that he's going to pick Florida.

Surtain: One source says LSU is the favorite while the other said Bama but both said they doubt Miami even has a chance.

Campbell: One source said that it's Georgia, Bama and Miami in that order and the other source said 100% chance he ISN'T going to Miami

They asked one of the sources why Miami is having trouble with American Heritage kids and the source mentioned that AH wasn't happy with Miami offering Berrios over McKenzie back in 2014 or when they didn't offer Michel's brother. Said that Miami offers the elite guys at the school but doesn't extend offers to the plan B guys but extend offers to questionable players at other locations.

------------------------------------------------------------

Reading the last part seems pretty dumb considering it was a different coaching staff that made those choices. Either way, that's the update from Canesport this morning so do with that what you will.

Not sure if part about them having hurt feelings is true, but if so, we are their private dumping ground. Send us the elites and the beg offers for your also rans. If not then we should tell the world NOBOBY gets offer that ever goes to school at AH. See if that cuts into thier 8 th grade recrtuiting.

We all know how this plays out

They don’t pick us next week, then the “insiders” just shrug and say “something shady MUST have happened. They were solid. I was never wrong. Recruiting is fluid guysm, don’t shoot the messenger. They’re 17 years old and impossible to predict!”

Yup.

I have no clue why most on here optimistic about Campbell and Surtain. We’ll get Nesta and possibly Chatfield but we’re not getting the corners.

Nothing wrong with being optimistic.

It's how losers live their life. They rather be pessimists so that if things go wrong they can say "I knew it" and if things go right they can celebrate and be surprised. It is a way for them to have a win-win. Even if we don't get either Cbs they can talk trash because they knew it all along.

No really successful person in life has this mindset, it's for losers. It's okay to be a realist and have doubts, but to seemingly hope that we don't get the players so they can make a post making fun of people with optimism, on signing day, is sad.

At this point those posters that are constantly saying we are not getting anyone, deep down prefer that to be the case, as they will get more pleasure thinking they are recruiting experts on signing day, regardless of what they say and how much they claim to be fans.

There was a poster who relayed information based on TY sister and she was all uga, it would make sense now as to why she is on that stance. She wants that job in ATL. As others reiterate including Rattler that it is Tyson's decision, I feel even more confident that Ty will be a cane.

And that poRster said TC was on campus and he wasn't. That guy joins the long list of wannabe insider faqquits.

I’m not a greedy man. Just keep nesta and add Chatman, ezzard, and one of Surtain/Campbell and I will be thrilled. Anything else would be gravy.

What does bama or LSU have to offer over UM?
Based on that article, and the following official visit, I like our chances. From a strictly football standpoint, bama might have more to offer. I can’t see what LSU has to offer except maybe it was his childhood favorite but there is not much else going for them.

Academics? Playing for a great all around coach? Playing in front of friends and family? Life after football and the greatest football alumni bond? UM.
Thinking after his visit, he will have his questions answered and will have seen what he wants to see outside of UM football. Clearly we will pull out all the stops his weekend for the kids visiting.

Not going to be any reason to leave home.

sileo jr are you tied to the program or relaying ivins tweets and VIP ?

Either way much appreciated! Gonna be a long 6 days fellas

He can't be relaying AI's tweets or info when he has it a couple of days before it becomes public
Fair enough

I'm not doubting the guy or hating on him I was just wondering his relation to the program

A lot of his info says per ivins which was why I was wondering . I don't have a 247 subscription so either way I'm out on top

This is how I saw it for awhile now. If anyone listened to surtain sr on that radio show the other day, it's pretty clear they are choosing between lsu and bammer.

Willing to bet your account on that?

Yes I'll put my account on the line that PS2 does not end up here.

View attachment 57885

I’d bet my account he doesn’t end up here.

IndayArtHauz gonna have to start keeping a list of these clowns than can be purged off the site after PS2 signs on Wednesday.

I am most assuredly not hoping that we don’t get Campbell or Surtain.

I’m simply stating that since no one other than some allegedly tuned in people on here think we have a shot it would be wise to take a realistic approach.
