AG on WQAM 10/21

I think the fans were getting ****ed about the stings and cans hitting them during the game.

One thing I have noticed all yr is we make good halftime adjustments. Something we didn't do under previous regimes of late. That is a good sign of good coaching IMO. We limited Ga Tech's rushing attack in the second half and held Ebron in check second half too.

Those two games, and the USF game were all cases were the team we played had extra time to put in some wrinkles we were not familiar with. Good adjustments by the staff. Keep the turnovers down, we rolling this year.

I was gonna ask about the lack of smoke coming from the coaches box this year.

What happened to the dixie cups with string communication device?

Replaced with one of these a few years back. Get with the time man.

as to second half adjustments, what is your thought on whether these are more difficult to implement because D'Onofrio is upstairs? Would it be easier to implement if he were downstairs?

He comes downstairs at halftime.

no ****! let me rephrase since i did not express myself clearly. would it be easier to make adjustments during the game if D'Onofrio were to be downstairs and that way the D would not have to wait until halftime?

He has one of those new fangled 2 way communication devices that allows him to talk to the coaches on the sidelines during the game.

I saw that!

Mistakes made; gotta learn from them but Chapel Hill has been tough for a few years now. Made this point a few times through the IV. Mistakes made have to be learned from.
Morris; worst is behind him, never thought about benching him, hadn't minced words in his talks with him
Duke is "fine" and cleared to practice . (Very definitive on this one. That's all he said)
Dorsett; fortunate it wasn't worse
Crawford; "embrace the role and you climb the ladder" ; best 5-6 yard runs he'd seen in a long time
Oline; Linder stood out. They had 550 yards with the turnovers which is testament to the line.
Records don't matter; each week is its own season it's own game
Culture of explosive special teams is critical and they need to build on it
Tracy Howard; improving, needs to stay consistent with technique
Best part of team; mentally tough and well conditioned
One game season; talking up Wake
College football is different now , no monopolies, each game etc
Ebron; had a "plan and a half" for him but they didn't execute. "Frustrating"
Do your job/trust your training
Stay humble/stay hungry
Clinton Portis was prophetic. The U is different and the connection and brotherhood makes it so.

Golden was spot on....

thanks.
the brotherhood and culture is unlike any other.
crazy that Crawford still has a couple years here. kid's gonna have a nice career at UM.

Man I cant appreciate AL Golden enough man he is an amazing coach that has a great vision...

That was yet another great interview...

Duke is cleared for practice

We need him for FSU. I think we should sit him unless these migraines are the cause of his injury (i.e. they pop up at any time).

I get migraines. Sitting him is not going to make them any better or any worse for FSU.

Migraines are not typically caused by a savage knee to the head. The dude got his bell rung, and we had to take his hat. How corrupt would it have looked to let him continue playing after the self-laudatory video we made congratulating ourselves for being out front on concussion issues? No more of those videos in the future please.

different things can trigger or worsen the severity of migraines. I've had migraines before that would go away with over the counter meds, but I can guarantee if I got kneed in the head when I had one of those "weak" migraines, it would turn into a full blown, I want to puke, get me away from light, migraines quickly.

When I used to get them, I never received a blow to the head prior to receiving a migraine. Sometimes they were triggered by light but mostly they were randomly brought on.

I have to imagine that this may have been a prevention to avoid some type of further injury. I wonder if he did sustain a concussion last week.

I think its underrated how well coached we are

I love The Don, but it's not great coaching when you purportedly have a genius plan to stop Ebron but can't get the team to execute it.

I agree with this but also have to acknowledge (and never thought I'd say it) that losing Rodgers probably hurt us some here. Rodgers for all of his tackling flaws is a bigger athletic guy who has extensive experience in coverage and was probably the coaches' best bet for running with that guy. Bush is smaller and still not ready for primetime, jenkins isn't a great cover, and the LBs are overmatched.

When Rodgers went down it hurt. I believe on one of Ebron's catches (31 yard reception) where Bush was five yards behind him at the catch, Rodgers could have made a play. While Renner threw an almost perfect pass, there was no defense coming from behind.

If Duke gets his "bell rung" against FSu you're going to have to pry his helmet from his cold dead hands.

I used to get migraines being around my ex-wife. I killed her, and they still didn't go away. Finally, I buried the *****. Problem solved. Duke's may have a different cause though.
