After the Storm: VT

Unfortunately, Searles isn't going anywhere.

Richt and crew have been saying since the beginning of the season that next year's OL should be much better than what we've had with Gaynor plus the freshman taking over plus Donaldson and Scaife.
While I am skeptical that Richt is going to make any changes, I'm not sure that quote is any indication of his future plans. Why couldn't the OL be better, as Richt is suggesting, under a new OL coach?

If that's the case, and the offensive line is just going to be better next year because better players will be playing, then what are we paying Searles all this money for???

If success is completely independent of coaching, well coach, then what do I need you for??????

I saw you said "unfortunately", so not coming at you ssvir, but I am saying that if this logic is being floated for giving Searles more time, it is completely faulty, easily countered, and indicative of a crap coaching staff.

Bandy BALLED out... He deserves a mention. Otherwise great write up as usual

So it took 9 weeks this season for Richt to incorporate jet motion into the offense. 11 weeks to finally take advantage of our versatile running backs by utilizing a two-back set, and still hasn't figured out how to get Thomas or Pope properly involved in the game plan.

This failed experiment of him being the OC with Dugans and Brown drawing up plays in the sand needs to end now. We're ******* wasting all this talent trying to feed Richt's old ego.

Just rewatched a condensed version of the game. I have concluded that Searles should go jump off a bridge.

There are actually plays where even Mahoney caves in the the side of the line and the RB gets sprung for a huge gain. Then there are many, many plays where OL are looking in the wrong direction as a defender runs right past them. It is obvious that the OL is poorly coached, and that is being generous. It's entirely possible that the OL is physically strong enough to be a good OL with proper coaching, but I have never, in all my years, seen an OL that is as unprepared and poorly coached as this one.
