2024 Adarius Hayes LB Largo OV this weekend

I agree that talent over comes coaching…except for yesterday when Miami with a top 12 talent roster lost because of coaching. If Mario can’t win with a top 12 against GT, what makes you think that we win with a top 10 or top 8?

Because sometimes upsets happen

I would wager he knows when to take a f***ing knee from now on…But my god who know

I wouldn't wager a Penny on it! Our best chance is getting up by 2+ scores and letting him Broball his way to the 0:00.

5 games and not a single V formation this year
5 winning games last year and ONE V formation against VTech.

I mean none had this monumental a result though.

And not all winning games need V formations…Just the ones where the game is close, so your sample may be off. I mean we were up comfortably in all our wins this season, so alot of teams run plays then. I mean you don't need to be James Franklin and hurry to the line to cover a point spread like a **** clown. but...

The "broball" stuff gets overplayed imo…You need physicality to win games and championships, so I have no problem with instilling that attitude.

He kneeled vs
Fresno
UCLA
Wash State

He should have kneeled against
CAL
@Wash
Oregon State

Whatever
Arizona, Stony Brook, Colorado

OSU was getting the ball back no matter what.

Not exactly good game management for a team that was trying to get to the CFP.

I'm not arguing he is a good game manager lol

He's god awful. I was just pointing out the error in your previous post about him only doing it oncer at once in 10 possible wins at UM. Or maybe not "error" but you know what I mean

Up less than 3 scores (Texas A&M) you down the ball to run out the clock. 44 seconds left and he ran it. Thus, he has done this before this year but he was up 2 scores.

Nah, definitely not a lock or whatever, although I probably would. Why risk an injury if nothing else?

As for doing it before this year…It's because he's clueless and guessing. There's honestly some coaches that it never enters their head (maybe not quite to this extreme)…It's mind boggling

And if by some way you are this **** dumb to do it…You should be screaming or motioning or have a signal to Chaney (yes you shouldn't need it, but you know how today's players can be oblivious) that the extra yard/first down absolutely does not matter

There has to be some reason why Mario doesnt kneal?

Either its his own silly way to manage the game or he really doesnt understand basic concepts and math

Or some weird undiagnosed anxiety at the end of close games

I’m fine giving him and the staff more time to install, get reps, and improve the overall team. I just don’t think we can plan on always out talent every team we play and need to get the game management improved or Mario will be a 10-2 coach at Miami.
If Mario by now doesn’t realize that he has a game management deficiency that MUST be improved, then he is as dumb as a rock. The man is smart. He will figure this out. I’m sure he knows that he needs work in this area. He should talk to successful game managers, take courses, practice it in simulated situations, and practice it over and over in simulated situations.

Do you mean we should trust him to not do it a third time?

20 wins, 4 take a knee in the last 3 years with multiple other wins that were within 2 scores. This is after the 2018 Stanford.

I firmly believe Mario is a top 5 recruiter and evaluator. I firmly believe Mario is a bottom 5 game manager. No coach in history has done this twice, lost a game they could have won by downing the ball.

If you are winning big you finish strong with your backups for developmental reasons. You don’t go V formation. However, if the game is close or you are winning ugly, the take the W with a V.

The big ***** against Butch Davis was always gameday management, although nothing like this. The team is better since Cristobal got to Miami. Everything until this game was heading in the right direction. This was one of those games every team has where they play like ****, but pull it out, and we'd be *****ing about how badly the team played before going to UNC, but at least they won... Maybe the players are going to need to step up and put games out of reach of Mario's genius.

This was the last game I remember having this same WTF feeling.

Miami 1999 was a good, not great team that should have won that ECU game. Last year's MTSU game didn't matter because we sucked. This year's team just feels different. We should be a 9-3/10-2 team but this GT loss could hurt for more than a few days.
