I literally took AutoCAD and Solidworks courses a few years ago. And I wasn't even in an engineering degree that needed them. Fully agree that our engineering is subpar though.

Yes, I just texted my son. Solidworks, Abaqus and one other program. It is mandatory to take AutoCAD your sophomore year. There goes that narrative. For his capstone project, his team can use whatever it decides. They are using Solidworks.
