ACC Standings Through Week 9

Here's a big factor in the SMU vs Pitt game:

Pitt's starting QB - Eli Holstein- was injured at the end of the Syracuse game. He is listed as" unknown" right now. That will impact greatly Pitt's ability to hang with SMU offensively....

Yup Holstein got concussed in the 4th quarter against Syracuse while up 41-6 on a QB designed run.

Ol’ Narddog doing Narduzzi stuff.

Big game. We win the right way, we move up to #4. Penn St. plays Ohio St.
3 vs 4.
We need to move up because IF we lose the ACC championship game, we stay in the top 12.

I genuinely appreciate other people staying on top of this

I have PTSD from our yearly “we can still win the coastal” threads
God, I remember Randy or Al being 5-2 and every thread was about the three way tie breakers. Keeps me up at night.

ACC standings
Clemson: 5-0
Miami: 4-0
SMU: 4-0
Pitt: 3-0
Va Tech: 3-1
Louisville: 3-2
Syracuse: 2-2
Duke: 2-2
Everyone else has 3+ conferences losses.

Top Tier Remaining ACC Schedule
Clemson: Louisville, @ Va Tech, @ Pitt
SMU: Pitt, BC, @ UVA, Cal
Pitt: @ SMU, UVA, Clemson, @ Louisville, @ BC
Va Tech: @ Syracuse, Clemson, @ Duke, UVA

Week 10 Schedule:
Duke @ Miami
Va Tech @ Syracuse
Louisville @ Clemson
Pitt @ SMU

This is actually a pretty sneaky week in terms of its impact to Miami.

-It's SMU's hardest remaining game by a long shot. It also could give them a loss against a highly ranked conference opponent with a very good conference record, which could impact tie breakers. Their other conference opponents do not have good conference records so far.

-A Clemson loss to Louisville would be very important for tie breakers, as it's a common opponent that we beat. If I'm reading the ACC tiebreaker rule correctly, a Clemson loss to Louisville or Va Tech and a Miami win over Wake would essentially give us the tiebreaker over Clemson.

-Va Tech's continued success is very beneficial to Miami. They received votes in the Coaches Poll this week. They have the chance to finish the season ranked in a decent spot if they win out, which is possible if they make it through Clemson, and would greatly help Miami.

If all goes Miami's way this weekend we control our own destiny. I think it also gives us a head up in tie breakers against both SMU and Clemson, should we lose a game against anyone other than Wake. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but we could exit this week knowing there's a good chance we just need to beat Wake and then have a 1-loss buffer to play with.

Haynes King injury really put Ga Tech season to the cr@pper

Essentially Miami's only likely path to ACCCG is undefeated ACC play + SMU or Clemson loss.

Essentially Miami's only likely path to CFPO slot is winning ACC.

Anything less and our Canes are on outside looking in.

One of ESPN’s hack writers made a comment that if we lose the acc title game there may be a debate because of schedule. The only debate is should we be a 5, 6, or 7 seed if that happens.
