Not true. The ACC has not recognized a regular season champion since 1961. Being in first place just gets you the #1 seed.

hence why i said the one that is RECOGNIZED is the tournament.

But there isn't a regular season champion. Your post contradicted itself, especially since you were disagreeing with someone who said exactly what I am saying.

If the tourney champ is the one that is more recognized, then this needs to be addressed. One weekend over 2 months. What a joke!!

While the ACC may not officially designate it, you better believe we will hang a banner saying we were the Reg Season champs regardless.

Exactly. Why even play a schedule? Have your tournament and then start the ncaa's. no regular season is needed using this logic.

So, if we were to somehow lose 3, and Duke were to win out, who gets the #1 seed if we're both 15-3?

Assuming that Duke beats us in that scenario, it becomes the best record against the next highest ranked team. So if UNC finishes 3rd, that would mean nothing as we both would be 2-0 against them. If NCSU winds up the next highest team, we would get the 1 seed as we defeated them and Duke was 1-1. Basically, it all depends.

Well that's the insanity of college basketball. It actually doesnt matter if we win or lose our next game. We'll be in the tourney regardless of what happens.

You betcha! Even if it's not officially recognized, it would still look so much better than all those NIT banners hanging from the rafters.
