About time NIL HS in FL

Wow someone with a brain that makes sense. High school NIL is beyond stupid. It’s ridiculous. You think tampering is bad in college? This is a joke.

And I don’t care about NIL because I hate the NCAA but the wild Wild West approach us ******** up college athletics. And the transfer portal would be fixed in ten seconds if kids could go wherever they want but had to sit a year but still get that year without losing time. That will solve most of the BS. But your post was sensible and right on.

No one is thinking beyond today on any of these issues, & now u have a whole bunch of tape trying to be applied on open holes (pause).

I’m not against NIL, I’m against what’s transpired from it b/c there’s no parameters or regulations. Even in professional sports there’s parameters & regulations.

What still shocks me is that NIL, upon its purest argument, was never meant for any of this, especially HS athletes.

It was designed for enrolled college athletes to be compensated for whenever their name, image, or likeness was used in any monetary capacity, and prohibit the NCAA to deem their amateur status ineligible if they were to commercialize & monetize off their N.I.L.

But, whenever u get politics involved in things that’s not truly in their purview, well u get this.
Just shows you what was going behind closed doors before all of this was legal lol. There is a reason a lot of these programs have such sufficient NIL collectives already. Not their first rodeo

yea the head coaches...every one else is working for free and losing money or 2-4k if they are lucky.

the fhsaa is a sham...

ninjas created different random divisions because south florida sweeps the state champ games and we play our state champ games in regular high school level stadiums smh
I wish school districts could fix this sham down there. Assistant coaches put in soooooo much work at the HS level pretty much year round. It's a shame the $ isn't better down there as well as teachers salaries

Again, READING is fundamental. Did u see anything about me being angry about HS kids & NIL? I stated what the purpose of NIL was & how it spiraled.

My only gripe w/ NIL under its current construct is the pay for play, & truly it’s pay for play while kids on a roster r looking to bully their way to more money or leave.

That’s it.

The loss of student athlete team loyalty is your pain point. I can read and comprehend exactly what you are saying. You are triggered by the new changes. Your personal feelings are hurt. I will be sensitive to your feelings of loss and sadness. I get it now. All good.

I don’t know u, I ain’t even never even heard on u on these boards, so if this ur attempt to try to troll me, blood u ain’t it, homie. Lmao Carry on w/ ur day, doggy.

Free Gear is still being thrown around at camps & events, that haven’t changed.

N.I.L has become blurred w/ pay to play, & quite frankly it’s a double edge sword. It’s why I don’t become invested in recruiting nor do I become invested in players on the team b/c I know at any given moment, they can bounce, even if u r giving them all they want.
without NIL we couldnt compete though. this has been going on forever its just out in the open. im all for it. college football was the farthest thing from amateur athletics. it was all a fraud

You are not my enemy. Gators and Noles are. We agree to disagree. Go Canes! I have been posting in this board for a few years now. I have nothing else negative to say about the subject.

Agreed; amateur athletics it was a fraud, which is y I’m all for players getting a piece of the pie. We would’ve still competed b/c remember the whole premise on NIL x Miami was the marketing opportunities that would be available.

Regardless, all of it is moot. My problem r athletes holding their HC hostage as an enrolled student who’s already compensated. My other issue is, & this was well b4 NIL, the lack of financial literacy offered so these young men & women can make the best decision w/ this new found wealth.

Ok Jamie Ffrench and Vernell Brown have already inked Nil deals.

I know JJ Smith just did a shoot nil deal for dsw i believe clothing as well...

Reading berween the lines and "SfE" id say bothbare ohio state leans..

Nothing makes me happier than people getting an opportunity to make money for their talents & skills.

This. Is. The. American. Way.

I think most people can agree the old system was exploitive of student athletes and needed to be changed. But there are these points where I have concerns about what happens to people in more unregulated, purely capitalistic markets. Human greed, shortsightedness, and our general willingness to exploit others for profit usually trumps respect for one's fellow man/woman. I guess we'll all find out together, because the adults in charge are clearly playing it by ear.

Politicians in Florida have deemed them unworthy.

Obviously, only HS stars will ink NIL deals. How many will remain “hungry” and continue to work hard to achieve the goal of playing college football? And getting a college education. And achieve the ultimate goal of playing in the NFL.

Time will tell.
