A Randy Sighting

I just do not get the Randy-hate here. The guy was a great player, he was a very good DC, and a poor HC. But he is a Member of the Cane family for life.
These guys are miserable people, they live to hate others. Randy was part of the program, he has giving more to the program than any of these losers. The only reason the Shipiro mess was not worst is because of Randy Shannon. These guys gotta get a life, being a full time hater has to be taking a toll on them. How could one be that miserable?

My biggest gripe with Randy was not being man enough to step down once he realized he was in way over his head as HC.

The job was just way too much for him to handle. Instead of stepping down gracefully while there was still time and talent to keep us from the debacle we became, he went all Nero on us and burned the program to the ground.

That being said. He can coach my defense any time he wants.

STEP DOWN FOR WHO TO TAKE OVER?! WHIPPLE?! U CAN BLAME RANDY IF U WANT BUT "THE U" GOT EXACTLY WHAT IT PAID FOR .....THEY WOULDNT GET OFF THEIR WALLET....AND UF U GUYS REMEMBER.....IT WASNT LIKE BIG NAME COACHES WERE BUSTIN' DOWN OUR DOORS TO COACH HERE....COACH SHANNON WAS JUST THE BAND AIDE OVER THE CANCER....BUT HE IS STILL "FAMILY" TO SOME....MAYBE SOME OF SUNDAY MORNING COACHES / ATHLETIC DIRECTORS WILL THINK TWICE ABOUT CRANKIN' UP THAT OL' COACHING CAROUSEL ANYTIME SOON.....

Some do. It happens in the corporate world all the time.

Stop projecting your own beliefs on others and the world will become a much more coherent place for you.

name one head coach that has ever done it. That seems like a weird gripe to have with a man, that he didn't turn down millions of dollars because he didn't think he was good enough for the job.

Alittle info from Wiki:

During Shannon's six years as UM's defensive coordinator, his defenses ranked as follows in total defense nationally:
2001 – 6th
2002 – 7th
2003 – 2nd
2004 – 28th
2005 – 4th
2006 – 7th

I wouldnt be mad if we brought him back as a DC, even with Coker recruiting he was able to have that defense we need, I know Miami at the time sold itself more than Coker ever did, but still impressive.

Bobby Petrino: Atlanta Falcons (was making like 5 million a year)

He did everything possible to destroy the program. His incompetence was beyond that of any coach that I've ever seen.

But he was a great DC bc being a simple mind, his defense was simple and easy to learn, and therefore our players executed well.

if we hire Randy and for some reason he sucks here and we have to fire him.. there will be riots in the streets...

We will be with Onfrio for another year if he improves from this year.. we will stick around.
