why does it make sense that a LB coach who is unlikely to return given we fired our DC, to be handling all evaluation and leading/deciding about the recruitments including setting up visits on their own without actual approval from the people put in the power to approve such things?

Like it's one thing to say Dennis Smith shouldn't be in charge of this cause he's not a good evaluator. I'd think we all want that to change. But it is also VERY true that the guy that is a dead man walking shouldn't be completely operating autonomously from the people actually given the power and put in charge of the offers/visits... Like what if Dennis smith was actually good at his job... Would it still make any sense that the lb coach about to be fired is sending out offers and setting up visits without actual approval to do so?

This scenario makes sense but the public way in which it was handled is poor form. Is this just your interpretation, or is this an informed depiction of what went on?

Yeah… I remember thinking after that game, “Man idk if we will ever be back to being good enough to beat these muhfuccas!” I was soooo completely beat, that I felt my *** was out there on that field. I have NEVER felt that way before or since after ANY Canes game. I always see a glimpse of hope after every loss. After that game, there was none. I just walked to our car without saying a **** word. I don’t think I said a word till I saw a sign on I75N that said “Downtown Macon next Exit” I remember cause I had driven past my exit.

I don’t disagree a bit. If D Nich is on the way out he shouldn’t be in there either. I have no confidence in what D Smith has been doing based on the guys in here you know are connected to things.

I have no confidence in what D Smith has been doing based on what we hear from the guys here AND the way he acts. Those typically respected for knowing their stuff and being great at their craft don't act the way he does. They take their job more seriously and understand the impact of optics.
