Because miami is a giant step up from ole miss. Has more talent. Has a 10 times easier path to the playoffs.

Winning 10 at ole miss is way more impressive than 12 at oregon. It just is.

It really isn't. Oregon has 1 4 star recruit in the entire state. Mississippi has 6 4 star recruits. Oregon just wants to be good, and recruits national. You can't tell me Lane loves recruiting high school kids. He's an offensive coach, coming off winning 10 games, Archie's grandfather and uncle went to Ole Miss, so he has an advantage, and Archie Manning still chose Texas.
