A couple big visit updates for this weekend…

Another "mutual parting of ways"? This was a national top recruit at OL. Don't come back and sell us athletes and body types later because we just got beat flat out by UT. We have not been on the radar of top OL since Samson and Francis.
I mostly agree with the last sentence, but in this case, he should have been dropped. Red flags galore.

Even Brian Dohn (who covers that region for 247) hinted at that on Inside the U. You rarely see those kind of comments from national writers.

I'm sure funds are tight at oline. We paid up for Pancake and Francis. Not many blue chippers want to sit for more than a year so I get it. I'm really not worried until guys stop being developed or the portal dries up. Both seem unlikely.

How much longer are we going to use this excuse? This doesn't stop the bama/OSU/UT of the world to sign consistent top OL classes and Samson hasn't gotten off the bench yet.

Can't be because our OL hasn't produced either. Had one of the best OL's last year and should have one of the best again this year.

Jeremiah smith said it because he was being antagonized by Miami fans who said they don’t want him back on campus. Thomas said it unprompted then proceeded to not set up any OV with us this summer. Don’t think the two situations are anything alike
its not like soloman thomas isnt committed to our biggest most hated rival already either. lol

Him being compared to JJ Smith is asinine

Soft GIF
shoulders in this thread. Miami went 7-6 last year and still had the # 4 recruiting class in the NATION.

What gone happen when it’s 10-2, 11-1, playing for the ACC championship, possible CFB playoff.
Some of the ninjas getting left in the cold beggin’ to get in to paradise and the door will only be opened for the elite. Relax.

You sure bout this?

For 2024 Bama signed one IOL ranked 158 overall. The other 2 OL in the class were unranked and one was Joseph Ionata the kid from clearwater we went after.

OSU signed one IOL ranked 182 then 2 unranked OL

UT signed a OT ranked 45. Then 2 IOL both were unranked.

In fact for 2024 the top ranked OL went to the following:

1. Colorado
2. South Carolina
3. UT
4. USC
5. Wisconsin
6. Penn State
7. UGA
8. Michigan
9. OU
10. Tenn.
11. ND
12. Oregon
13. A&M

Then you are up above the 150 rankings. SO yes you can argue Miami being excluded from that list is unacceptable but so are OSU and Bama as the examples you gave.

In 2023 it went:

1. Bama
2. Miami
3. LSU
4. Miami
5. Penn State
6. UGA
7. Utah
8. ND
9. LSU
10. FSU
11. A&M
12. UGA
13. Penn State
14. OU
15. Tenn

Obviously UM dominated this ranking but again no OSU or UT.

As a casual fan of CFB in general (meaning I will watch other games but not follow other teams recruiting and players as much as Miami) I read your statement and it sounded logical, I mean **** anyone with eyes sees those big boy OL's and assumes they are the top ranked guys and you occasionally hear a story or a huge bag being dropped but there is a lot more disparity than I think people realize so dont just spread an unfounded assumption that we are not on par with the programs you listed in OL recruiting.
