A Chance at the Coastal?

Duke beat us once in a bajillion years. They hit the lottery last year.

**** them. Tired of hearing our ***** fan base talk about them like they matter.

Win and you don't have to worry about other teams schedules. OP is negged for ***-gotry

Our road is more difficult is all he is saying.

We can beat Duke by 40 at home, but If that's their only loss and we lose at Lville and against FSU, then we lose the Coastal even if we drill all the other Coastal teams.

Duke is not going 6-2 in the ACC again. They just lost their big time offensive threat at QB.

except for FSU, we have more talent then any team on our schedule. The team with the most talent wins most times in college football.

Had more talent than a handful of teams last year also. Its going to come down to the maturation of our young players and or coaching, which has been a problem.

with duke and va tech cupcake schedule....

While I disagree with the premise we have no chance - I do agree that VT and Duke have the easiest schedules. UNC and Virgina have pretty tough ACC schedules, and we at least get the Noles at home...and near the end of the season where our younger guys will have some experience under their belts. UNC & Virginny play AT their tough cross conference opponents. For the last several years everything has been up in the air until the last week. In our last week we get PITT at Sun Life vs. 20 degrees in Pittsburgh. If we have truly improved and improve during the season I see our chances as pretty good. Duke has lost it's dual QB threat and UNC is going though a QB battle. Injuries are going to be a key component of this year's Coastal race for just about every team.

Topic is good, pessimism is unwarranted.

Thanks TheCaneShow for posting the Coastal matrix. That clarifies it.

Thread has a bit of potential without the Eeyore OP, so let's maybe keep it going a bit with a different slant - who in your opinion has the easiest path schedule-wise to the ACCCG?

I'd go with Duke & VT, probable advantage to VT. Unless of course BC has turned the corner.

I'm not even trying to be a smartass but "everyone"

the ACC is the epitome of mediocrity. Anyone with a pulse and any sort of consistency should win it. I give VT the edge because their coaching allows them to be be more consistent on the road than most everyone else in the ACC.

I think that's just the issue we're running into - it's anybody's ball game (literally) in the ACC.

Everyone in this conference, has a cakewalk schedule. This conference is beyond the biggest pile of ****. FSU is back at the top of the mountain. That they use to sit on, when they 1st rolled up in this trash heap.

Before Bobby **** things away. FSU ran through this trash bin. Like it was suppose too. Now it seems Jimbo has them back on track, and that is what happens when you hire a top coach, and let a has been go.

Miami, and FSU only cross road playing in this dump should be each other, but we go out and make the thrift shop hires. The only reason. **** teams like VT, GT, and Duke have made it to the ACCCG. Is because we have failed, at the very top. To provide the talent that we get in here. With a great coaching staff.

There is a former alumni available who was terminated unfairly. I am sure he would welcome the opportunity to coach here in a heartbeat. First, we need to make a decision to move on.

Duke: Cuse, WF
VTech: BC, WF
UNC: FSU, NCSt
GT: Clemson, NCSt
Miami: Ville, FSU
Pitt: BC, Cuse
UVA: Ville, FSU

Miami and UVA have the hardest by far. Then UNC, GTech. Pitt, Duke, VTech have the easiest.

This is all hyperbole since someone says it every year but the Louisville game is the most important in Golden's career here. The team should be ready to compete for something big in your 4th year, not to mention the importance in the ACC. Lay an egg and things might get ugly for the team and Golden.

No chance for Coastal. We couldn't even compete in the worst Coastal division (or any division in any BCS conference of all time) in 2013.

No way. Will NEVER see a weaker VT than last year, and will never have the Coastal locked up just by beating Duke again.

And the opening day loss at UL will clinch it.
