#9

I like Garrett Kidd as a WR6 who can get in a couple of plays here and there, but yeah. Malcolm not gonna be redshirting this year.

I'd rather see what D'mauri Jones can do before i go to a walk-on.... he is big enough and fast enough to stretch the field.

Also Malcolm Lewis is to good of a receiver to even think about redshirting

I was never sure why so many people were so high on Hurns. He has OK hands, but still does not look comfortable/natural as a WR and his production is spotty. I would love to see him step his game up and produce more, but I def believe we have way more talented options.

People like him because he's a super hard worker, a good player, a good route runner and a great blocker. In other words, he does a lot of things well. The screen game isn't his game, and it's not his fault that they were throwing them to him.

I was just under the impression that he's good to go now. I didn't expect him to be our go to receiver or anything.
I just thought itd be good to get him acclimated with a couple touches to get his confidence up since it's been a minute and we'll really need him next week.
9 is going to play and contribute a lot this year. Why not give him another week to get better?

Confidence is never going to be a problem with Malcolm. He rolls out of bed feeling it.

Herb really made the most of his opportunity when Malcolm went down which is probably why Malcolm didn't get as much burn last night. Personally, I absolutely love Malcolm and I really hope he gets some quality snaps vs Florida and makes some plays. The kid deserves it after how much work he puts in. He's also supremely talented.

Also, it is absolutely pointless to redshirt Malcolm. If he REALLY needs a 5th year then he can get the medical redshirt and add an extra year of eligibility. There is no chance Malcolm is a kid that needs both a medical redshirt and a redshirt. He's too good to be playing 6 years like some other guys that have done that. He'll be in the League by his 4th year.

I was surprised Lewis was out there so early. The crowd didn't react at all, unlike the spring game tribute. We didn't target him and he seemed to be out there only a handful of plays. Then a long gap and repeated in the second half.

Last year I thought Lewis was our second most impressive freshman, and in any other year he would have been drawing raves. Duke properly stole the attention. This year I'm expecting maybe 80% of what I remember from last season. Anything above that would be a bonus. We definitely need him now, considering how the roster has unfolded.

As someone else pointed out, Lewis' absence did eventually pave the way for Waters. I'm convinced the coaching staff had a lower opinion of Waters than warranted, and he continues to surprise them.

Man.... so much of this is on the quarterback, it ain't even funny.

If Morris plays as well as I think he can play, that other **** will work itself out.

For 2014 though, we need some motr WR's either high school or juco. Depth is turrible.
