25. George Rushing, WR, Cardinal Gibbons- 6’0, 182 pounds (Uncommitted)

Strong, sudden wideout who does most of his damage after the catch. Led Broward County in touchdown catches (13) and emerged as the most dangerous player in Cardinal Gibbons’ trio of D-1 receivers. Rushing decommitted from Louisville after Charlie Strong’s departure, and it’s no surprise that LSU is interested. Rushing fits the SEC mold. Needs to improve his hands but has a boatload of natural talent.

24. Tyre Brady, WR, South Dade, 6’3, 183 pounds (Miami)

Tyre Brady is a guy that we’ve been talking about for two years now. What jumps out about him is his ability to get in and out of his breaks at 6’3. He’s been at three schools and hasn’t played a ton of high school football, but he came on very strong during the Buccaneers’ run to the state title. Needs to learn to play to his size and win jump balls (see Jaquan Johnson’s game-winning INT against Killian). Boom or bust player with enormous upside.

23. Madre London, RB, St. Thomas Aquinas- 6’2, 202 pounds, 4.61 (Michigan State)

Bull of a runner who will fit right in at Michigan State. Good athlete. Coordinated and natural in the passing game. Tall, lean frame that should carry 220 pounds easily. Showed off his speed with huge runs against national powers John Curtis and Northwestern. Future 1,000-yard back.

22. Juwan Dowels, CB, American Heritage- 5’9, 162 pounds, 4.72 (Uncommitted)

HurricaneGlory and WildcatDefense have been hyping this guy up for months. They weren’t lying. Dowels is a pure cover corner with light feet and incredible ball skills. The Broward Defensive Player of the Year snatched nine INTs and brought back memories of Jayron Hosley, another ballhawk who was deemed to small for the Big 3. Still needs to get stronger and more physical, but he will make a lot of plays at the college level.

21. CJ Worton, WR, South Dade- 6’1, 176 pounds, 4.76 (Florida State)

When I first saw Worton, I didn’t like him. Thought he wasn’t FSU caliber. It turns out that all he needed was a quarterback. Kahlil Render transformed the South Dade offense and Worton turned into the most prolific receiver in Dade County (1,052 yards, 15 TDs). Elite eye-hand coordination. Average after catch but has good speed. His sharp route-running and savvy allow him to get behind defenses for big plays (25 YPC). Has two older brothers who played D-1 football.

London seems like he fits the bill for the big back Miami has been failing to get. Any reason why there was no interest?
 
Interesting that you have Rushing over some of the other guys. What do you like about him over someone like Chris Taylor?
 
Either way Madre will fit in perfectly at Mich St.

Lets hope Tyre is a boom. We need him to be elite for us in two years to take the sting off losing Rudolph and Dixon.

I think we should've pursued London, Dowels, and Worton. I understand we can't have them all, but these players were truly productive and stood out on their respective teams. Worton is more polished and ready to play than Tyre Brady. Dowels is a better CB prospect than Mayes, Bethel, or Turner. Lastly, Madre would've been a perfect big back compliment to yearby. The sad thing is all 3 of these guys would've strongly considered Miami if we offered.
 
This is when the list gets truly mystifying. Worton I understand not taking...we got a better prospect in Berrios and they are both small. London...didn't get it then, don't get it now. Dowels...no real justification in my head for taking Turner and not him.

The only one who could turn out to be a big F up by the staff is Dowels. Esp now that there is no Bethel or Turner and I am not a big fan of Mayes. And the option to convert Bpowell to DB is gone too. Looks like they are putting all their eggs in the JC Jackson basket.

I like Rushing's size, athleticism and overall upside. I wish he plucked the ball more, but he knows how to use his body and make plays.

It makes sense that LSU is pursuing Rushing because he's that "type" of receiver. Taylor is very good and the difference between them is small, but Rushing is a more physical player and gives you more after the catch.

Remember with London, we had Yearby and Powell both committed at RB, and for a long time. Cook was still in play. Hindsight is 20/20 when looking back to London.

Definitely seem like different types of WRs and I'd use them differently. I wonder if Rushing can harness that talent and look a little cleaner catching the ball and overall in his routes. He does look a bit like a RB/athlete playing WR, which can be utilized, of course.

Worton is closer to 6'2" than Berrios size.

He has also averaged 25 YPC in the best competition. His brothers were studs also and he is said to be best. I really hope we make a move on him instead of letting him go to UF/FSU.

Dmoney, There must be some heavy hitters in that top 20 for the Defensive POY in Brwd to be sitting at 22.

There are too many D-1 Caliber players in SoFl so you have to decide who are tthe best at positions of need, offer and recruit them hard. Even then some of those will opt to go elsewhere. That's when you go to 1-A who was close in your evaluation. Hopefully you won't have to go down to 2 (3rd Guy). We need another DL, CB and big back. That leaves JC DT McDowell, CB? good luck, could wait till next year for a big back.
 
D$, I agree with Worton over Brady. Worton has great hands, great route running, and can get physical when he needs to be. Even though IMO Brady has the higher ceiling, Worton is more polished and can produce sooner in his college career.

Hopefully we get the same thing from Berrios that FSU is going to get from CJ.
 
We should be all over those 5 guys mentioned above. We need a WR, RB, and CB. Why not just stay at home and recruit these young guys?
