6 Games Left

I think most are confused about our schedule. The games listed in the first post aren't in correct order. We play at Louisville saturday after our home game against vtech tonight. Favorite by 11 tonight.

I'm not confused, I just listed the games.

I'd say 1-5 or 2-4.

Gotta go at least 4-2 to be in contention, and need some wins in the ACC tourney.

FSU will be the end, if we beat VT first.

FSU will be the end? We lost by one possession to them on their hold floor. Home court is worth more than a possession in college basketball no matter how many fans go show up at our games. I understand this team is inconsistent and can lose to anyone. But everyone should assume we will beat both FSU and VT at home. As for North Carolina, we are at home and that game is a toss up. We will have a good crowd and this team is talented enough to win that game. Louisville is obviously our toughest game but they just lost by double digits at home. We are capable of winning big on the road but this game is even tougher because of their length and size. Then there is at VT and at Pitt. We have been within a few possessions for every road game this year. You play two on the road to medicore teams and odds are we would win one of those games. In the end, this team will win at least 3. That's simply going off what this team has done in the ACC this year. And we know they are more talented than what they have shown.

lmao...funny how our base thinks isn't it, though history does play a logical part.

FSU simply doesn't even belong on the court with us, much less much better competition and we handed them the last game on a silver platter after holding a double digit edge for quite a bit.

That being said, this team has not demonstrated any ability to win where and how they should against inferior opponents...not to mention an uncanny ability to perform better on the road.

We all know what the deal is....we have to start at least 2-1 against VagT, UL and FSU...pretty clear. Obviously can't give away games against inferior talent at home, and only 2 of those left. UL is a huuuge longshot as we probably left our best, tho not stellar by any means, effort on the court against them at home. UNC again, is not the type of squad that ordinarily plays poor this time of year...but if we can go 2-1 and have an unruly BUC, who knows. Pitt is erratic at best like us, but with home court, tho we SHOULD beat VT at VT.

I think 3-3 is fair, though I can easily see 2-4. The crazy, maybe sad part about this squad is that the talent is there to go 4-2 or even 5-1, but with one year together, pretty unrealistic unfortunately absent some insane shooting streak.

If this team were to ever get hot and make a run, we got a favorable schedule to do it, considering the potential ACC teams to close out the season.

Its gotta start tonight though, I think the days of shaking off bad losses are behind us. Its do or die time.

Its not too late. And I really don't know what to expect either.

Objectively speaking, it's not too late. They could get hot and go on a run to finish. Realistically speaking, the team is too inconsistent to put the odds of that happening any higher than 'unlikely'.

I guess based on some of the experts in this thread we won our last game of the season tonight.

I think it was important for us to handle VT easily. Looked like same ole sleep walking Canes early with VT hitting all the 3's but in the 2nd half they clamped down and looked like the team from early in the year. I know VT isnt a good team but when were playing well we blew out the inferior teams. Win against a short handed Lville team on Sat would put us back on the right side of the bubble imo.

Assuming we don't make a little noise in the ACC tourney, I think we have to finish the season 4-1 if we want to make the big dance. You take a split between Louisville and UNC and have to win the rest. The Miami/Pitt game could potentially be a play-in game for the NCAA Tournament if we don't self-destruct before we get to that point.

Feb 21 @ #12 LOU 2:00 PM ET
Feb 25 vs FSU 9:00 PM ET
Feb 28 vs #15 UNC 2:00 PM ET
Mar 4 @ PITT 8:00 PM ET
Mar 7 @ VT 12:00 PM ET

Thats it. No reason to not finish 3-2. But with this team I really just dont know what to believe. I could see any scenario between 0-5 to 4-1.

To add to that, I agree with what the guy above said. We really need to get one of the ranked games and then beat Pitt. That is the deal breaking game.
