Gaoteote is on campus in Columbus, but Ryan Day has said that he is currently paying his own way through school while he waits to hear from the NCAA about his eligibility for the upcoming year. Gaoteote’s transfer does not fall under the new one-time transfer rule as he entered the transfer portal in December prior to its passing.

The rule wasn't retroactive? How dumb. He should just go back into the portal now right now and then go to OSU.

LB coach to DC makes sense if it's to another power program. Miami LB coach to UCF DC is lateral, at best.

Wouldn't be surprised if this eligibility question was one of the reasons the staff didn't pursue hard.... maybe it was always a gamble he would be cleared for the season..
