5 Star Challenge Thread (Updated Jun 9)

11. CB Tarvarus McFadden, Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage: McFadden was outstanding and has a knack for being in the right place at the right time, with at least two interceptions on the day. The 2015 prospect could become an even bigger recruit after this weekend since he was so productive in the secondary.

is this the one Miami hasnt offered ?

Yes, the one complaining about camp being too long

Ermon Lane's mom being a big part of the decision means one of two things, either she wants him to be close to home, or, for those of you familiar with the show, take the money and run

Yeah. Pete said there may be questions about his speed.

But he is on the fastest 4x100 team in the nation. I think there's something else we don't like about him

Rudolph reminds me a little of Herb Waters when he was recruited, tweener could be a WR/DB, but just kept showing out and earned his offer. Realize Rudolph already had an offer, but seems to be proving he deserves to play WR.

He is like Herb to me in the sense that he was underrated at one point and then constantly stepped up as time went on and became really good prospects at 6'1,6'2

Who has the most upside of the WRs we are recruiting?

Personal opinion, Travis

It depends on if you mean the ones we feel good about or of all the ones we have a chance at. Of the guys we feel great about I wilol slightly agree with Travis but out of everybody I take KD Cannon because he can be an absolute monster and almost at the level of Lane

Ive got a toss up between Travis and Dixon.

As far as guys we are recruiting. Idk who is faster but Cannon and Scott have some WHEELS!!!!!!!

To me as good as Dixon is I think the more UPSIDE to get better is Travis right now because I look at him and see Herb Waters by him just getting better and better to no limit. Cannon and Scott are both burners but I think Cannon has a little more upside and I mean future top 15 pick in the draft upside

Top 15? Thats tough right there. Baylor been snagging the recruits since RG3, Terrance Williams, Kendall Wright. They got 5 star WR Rhodes last year if they add Cannon this year watch out gor them. Thats a program on the rise.

Perfect combination. I said top 15 because to me he is a complete receiver and then he has the monster speed so I think he will live up to every bit of his hype

WR Johnnie Dixon, West Palm Beach (Fla.) Dwyer: We had seen enough of Dixon last fall to know he has the elite linear speed to get over the top of defenses. In Chicago, he showed the ability to get separation on speed outs and comebacks. He also displayed the toughness needed to make a play in traffic and over the middle. Dixon was at his best on vertical routes, and he turned around a few defensive backs on double moves. He caught almost everything thrown his way, and he proved he is more than just a vertical threat who relies on his speed.

OL Demetrius Knox, Fort Worth (Texas) All Saints Episcopal: It is hard to deny what was seen in Chicago, and that was Knox taking his game up a notch. He has looked the part and has shown glimpses, but over the weekend on Soldier Field he put together his best, most complete performance to date. The standout offensive lineman flat-out dominated his opponents throughout the weekend.

WR Travis Rudolph, West Palm Beach (Fla.) Cardinal Newman:- Rudolph was exceptional at the Five-Star Challenge. He runs excellent routes and explodes out of his breaks. One thing we noticed is he doesn't wait for the ball; he attacks it. His hands are as sure as it gets, and he understands how to get open against man or zone coverage. He isn't the tallest, but he can high point the ball against bigger defenders with his above-average vertical ability. We like his pedigree (cousin of Devin Hester), football IQ and reliability. There may not have been a more complete wideout performance in Chicago outside of Rudolph's.
