I'll be honest here, I don't see the point in this thread. This is the exact thing that kids say and/or signal every year. They're willing to listen to Miami, but in order to sign they need to see that things are turning around.
So would you send your son there during the golden yrs? I wouldn't send mine and I love Miami to death. Why throw away your career when they cant get it together. Look at how many kids they had fall in the draft bc of there lack of coaching.

First let me say this, if you don't win they will not come. Idc and I'm sure the kids from down south don't care. If you listen to Collins comments he's unsure of Miami and so are a lot of other recruits. But like he said if Miami starts proving themselves and changing they will come. Recruits talk and I'm sure if we start winning and showing the nation we can compete we will be alright.
They want to ride the wave then jump in or off at their convenience. Excuses in the back pocket just in case.

If the U says we are interested, and they asked.................... but you are looking and waiting to see what happens......... then no thanks, and the Canes are looking too, and have other plans to pursue other recruits.

The word will get around, that Miami is not playing games, and they will move on.

If a prospective Cane recruit does not have the Cane mentality and commitment,......... then quoting Ed Reed" Just keep on walking, we do not need you"...
I totally agree on this.

This kid and this quote was talked about extensively in another thread already. I thought he was straight up.

He’s the one who’s Mom wants UM but he sees the gaytor doing well and a bunch of his Palmetto teammates are committed there.

Who knows. Some kids mean this. And some kids say this but really have no intention of signing with UM regardless.

All we can do is win and then see what happens.

This is all I'm saying kids will go where they want to go at the end of the day. My thing is why get mad bc a kid don't want to come bc we falling apart on both sides of the ball.

YOU MEAN TO TELL ME IF WE beat everyone in the ACC then go to ACC CHAMPIONSHIP LOSE or win, then go to a big bowl game. That WE WONT PULL IN RECRUITS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO GET?
Some of them yes, but it depends on the recruit.

Some recruits are leaving no matter what, we could go 15-0 winning the Natty & some of the kids locally will still leave.

If we win & have a good season we will absolutely get some really good prospects, more than we usually get, but the South Fla dream class everybody hopes for is never going to happen.

What winning will do for us is make us a more viable option for high caliber OOS prospects. What you see with UGA, Bama, Clemson, Oh St etc is that they use their winning programs to recruit nationally, they don't just load up on locals, they invade regions of high caliber talent & pluck the best kids from those regions.

The DMV (DC/MD/VA) area is under constant siege by Bama, UGA, LSU, Oh St, Michigan & Penn St, St. Frances Academy has 5-star players every class & nearly every one of them get poached. Same with California, all the top kids in Cali are getting snatched up by other programs.

Texas kids are still primarily staying with UT & TAMU, but quite a lot of them have been going to Bama, UGA, Clemson, Oh St, ND etc.. Florida has only been able to keep 2 out 14 5-stars in the last 4 classes in state. Pretty much everywhere except Louisiana are all the top kids leaving home.

The point being, winning for us won't keep all the South Fla kids home, it'll attract some good OOS kids here. We'll still get a few local kids to hop on board, but most of them are still going to leave, whether we win or not.

It will attract those who WANT to be Canes, moreso than others who want to leave SoFla.

It is a different outlook than the 80's through the '00's.....some kids can't wait to leave, others want to make the crib win, and bring back the aura of the U with substance and swag......different times.
Absolutely your last sentence is the key.......

Win this year and mom wins. She usually does in most cases.

There's layers to this ****. When it comes to local kids, you've got a handful of diehards who are staying home no matter what and a handful of kids who aren't signing no matter what. Most of the others are in between. They're like the fans. "Show me something before I get behind this". We already saw the immediate result of winning in 2017 when they were 10-1 on early signing day and they raked in a great class. They lost the next two games and regular signing day was a bit of a dud. If Miami is sitting on 10 or 11 wins in December again this year, they're almost guaranteed a top 5-10 class. With so many kids signing early now, the post season results almost don't matter anymore. Come out the gates hot and look like a contender in November and December and everyone will want in. Flop early or have some mid season losing streak and you're going to have to scramble. You can only sell kids on potential so long. Eventually you have to show some results if you want to keep recruiting at a high level.

Hopefully. I think we need to put together two 10 win seasons and then see how it goes locally with recruiting. Right now it’s easy for kids to point to wins... even player development I guess too.

Because I said so....Either get tf on board...or haul ***...Makes no difference to me....let his *** go to KKK Land...CaneinOrlando gives Absolutely No Fs....

hes been wanting to go to UF for a while now. hes gonna flip at some point but knowing SFL kids, itll be right before NSD when **** tell coaches hes locked in
