Give me Steele, Elam, Davis and Porter if possible at CB. At S a class of Stevenson, Smith and Gant would be amazing. I want Richards at Safety as well but I think he is set on offense in which case he could be the 2nd WR in the class.
The CB class I have above would be excellent as I truly believe we need 4 CB's in the 2019. Elam, Steele and Porter are all excellent prospects with the length, speed and agility to excel on the outside. Jaden Davis is the best nickel CB prospect in the state. We need to build quality depth at CB and a haul like the one above would do exactly that while creating intense competition at the position with Ivey, Frierson, Bandy, Bethel and maybe Blades(possible safety) already in the fold.
Stacking chips at Safety is maybe even more of a priority given the fact that after our 2 senior starters, all we have is Carter, Hall and Knowles now that Derrick Smith is at Striker. We desperately need to create quality depth and competition at the Safety position and at least 3 is a must IMO. Getting Stevenson would be a coup as he would be an instant starter at FS and would likely pair with Gurvan Hall at SS with Carter coming off the bench. Keontre Smith looks like either a Striker or SS and he would immediately challenge Carter for reps. Gant would provide depth and play on special teams to begin but he is an excellent prospect as well. If we are fortunate enough to have Richards realize that Safety is his future money position and he agrees to play defense here then a potential Safety corps of Hall, Richards, Stevenson, K. Smith, Carter and Gant would be sick, filthy, insane and exactly how a Miami Safety room should look like.
You are sleeping on Amari if u think he’s not starting. I know we have this bad habit of anointing true frosh here; but it’s time to get to the point that our true frosh are seeing spot duty and waiting their turn. Carter is the goods, period. Hall and Carter will most likely be manning the S spot in 2019.
