4-8 in November

I’ve been annoyed by this program before, this is outright anger. Guidry should have been fired at halftime. I’m sick and tired of this program finding new ways to ***** up. It is almost impossible to blow a 21-0 lead. That is unless you are incapable of lining up correctly.
I agree I haven’t been very active on this board recently and tonight has me ready to blow a fuse. I knew syracuse was a serious threat and had this game eyed up but the way the game play just made it worse. I was always 50/50 on Mario due to giving him time but he just isn’t what this program needs. Hope he proves me wrong and will gladly eat all my words one day

Really good point OP.

I’m not going to start rattling off other coaches, I’m too ****ed off to look at anything sports-related right now.

But the fact that we consistently regress as the season wears on, is extremely frightening to me. Good teams don’t do that.

And it’s not health. We were arguably the healthiest top 25 team in the country.

That 21-0 lead was wiped away effortlessly. Never even seemed like we had a lead

10-2 isn't the issue for me. The issue is how the 10-2 transpired.

Needed 3 double-digit comeback wins, thanks to an all-world QB. Two of those teams, VT and Cal, have .500 or worse records. Duke finished 9-3 but with a weak schedule. Duke's best win was VT (.500) and lost to SMU despite a 6-0 turnover advantage.

Best offense in CFB was outscored in the 2nd quarter in 6 of 8 ACC conference games.
Lost 2 of last 3 games as double-digit favorites, failing when games meant the most.
Blew a 21-0 lead and was outscored 42-17 in final game with ACC championship appearance on the line.
Defense was bad in ACC games except bottom feeders Wake Forest and FSU.
Defense could not line up or communicate properly all season.

This shouldn't happen to good teams, let alone conference or national contenders.

Credit for signing Ward and riding his coattails but without Ward Miami is a 6-7 win mid-ACC team.

In Year 3.

The season was a failure, IMO.

Agree with lots of this. I think Mario has great relationship skills and I think kids want to do well for him, but he’s shooting himself in the foot with these coordinators imo.

I think its fair to question what Mario looks for in a staff. He wants to be CEO, but his hires can’t coach or teach.
Dawson got propped up this year thanks to Cam, but I got serious reservations about him heading into next year. I don’t think he has the feel in terms of playcalling or with his position coaches (rotations). I don’t have a lot of confidence in his “system”.

Best season in 20+ years goes up in flames as Mario blows a 21-point lead, goes for the FG with 3 1/2 minutes remaining when we haven't stopped 'Cuse since the 1st quarter. And how fitting 2 SFL divas make critical, bone-headed penalties in the last 4 minutes (George, and to a lesser extent Moten)
To be fair, George played great and the penalty was very iffy (but it's Miami and #3, so...).
