It wasnt the scheme, and its silly to blame "coaching". We had guys who were trying to create turnovers instead of playing fundementals football. ONE thing that I have seen this team improve GREATLY on is fundementals like tackling. Weve been tackling great all year until the last 2 games. I think we have guys trying to compensate and getting cute and trying to create turnovers, instead of taking care of business. THREE guys missed clean tackles on that play. All because they were trying to strip the ball instead of just taking the guy down.
It was a disaster of a night every which way. Everything that could have gone wrong did.
CANE4LIFE loves to type paragraphs even though he is as delusional as the majority that make up this site.
Miami hasnt been tackling great since the Florida game.... the problem was and is the schem and it is D'onofrio.
He put them so far out in space where our LBs and DBs could get exposed underneath, its easy to make a defender miss when he's slipping in the rain while out in wide open space trying to make an open field tackle..... D'onofrio put them in that position.
He shouldve had them closer to the LOS and attacking the LOS and the football instead he had the entire defense playing like Logan Thomas was this all world talent at QB that can beat us at any point.... his philosophy, his scheme, and his coaching is the reason why VT scored 42 points and put up 549 total yards of offense.
Stop being so clueless
I agree with the bolded part. Offensive coaches preach wanting to get guys out in space with a guy one on one. Thats all we seem to allow is guys out in space.
