3-Star OL Takaylen Muex decommits from Miami

Still my favorite OL in this class.

I’m not that excited about this news.

Thankfully, I don’t coach a Top 5 in the nation program, or make $8M a year.
@Ghandi I've seen you post these sentiments a couple times now. I'm asking out of complete ignorance here as I haven't seen one single snap from Muex. Why are you so high on him?

CIS articles and podcasts are filled with homerism and not real honest info. Every recruit/player on the roster is an all american.

David Lake is about the only one that'll occasionally criticize recruiting targets. For example, he said Chris Wheatley-Humphrey was not the caliber of RB Miami should be signing. Time will tell if he was right or not, but at least he didn't suck off every player that signed in 2024.
Agree with Lake on that one from a RB position. He will never play here at that position.

If he sucked off every player that we signed in 2024, he probably wouldn’t have time to criticize anyone.

So they miss evaluated him from the beginning?
No, Good player, with Good measurables, and Good upside who committed early and was a luxury pick up. Fast forward to an undefeated Top 5 team who has the ability to replace him with a Great player, with Great measurables, and Great upside and/or a Very good player at a Position of Need DL, CB, or Safety or WR. He was a Good pick up for a Top 20 ranked team.

They offered 2 OTs,this kid is an interior OL.
Doesn’t mean they will play OT at the next level

You play your 5 best OL

The JUCO kid is obviously playing guard here

Strong hands and a mean punch for a kid who’s relatively young. I haven’t seen his Sr film, but from what I saw last year he was also reasonably flexible for a kid pushing 330lbs. Usually at that size, they’re sloppy goofs.

I also thought with his ability to bend and hold, he’d at worst be a body at DT if OL didn’t pan out.

I'm putting it at like 90% chance that the staff didn't see what they wanted to specifically out of his senior film. The same reason you are saying you were high on him is why they took him and liked him in the first place.

BUT IF you are a 3 star developmental prospect - and a low one at that - if you don't show those signs of improvement and make the coaches confident they can develop you as a senior, there are a dozen+ other guys in a similar place that probably did show that growth...

I actually agree with this but at same token wtf does David Lake know about evaluating who is or isn't Miami caliber ?

We will see if “pushed out” is the real thing if he’s replaced with someone higher rated; could also he he started maybe pushing for more NIL money than they had earmarked for him and told him good luck

Either way this was a project and not a headlining recruit
what nil money? Nobody is paying a recruit ranked in the 1000s any money lol
