3-star DT Lamonte McDougle decommits from Wash St.

Mcdougle's Freshman year highlights. I think he ends up UCF playing for randy or FIU playing for butch.

 
Let me hear one good reason why we shouldn't be all over this...

He transferred to play in a system where he's not being double teamed as often.
 
I think In one of Gaynor’s interviews they asked him who was the best d lineman he faced and he said without pause that it was McDougle.

Just looked it up it was podcast vol. 23 and also at the 23 minute mark. He said Lamont McDougle and Jordan Wright. At the time I think we were recruiting Wright but he ended up and Kentucky.

i like the idea of taking him, but he's going to have to sit out this year, correct? or does he have some kind of waiver?

if he sits out this year, he plays for us in 2019 as a redshirt sophomore. basically putting him in the same class as miller(if he doesnt redshirt), silvera. and one year behind jon ford(junior) & Tyreic Martin(redshirt junior)

Kid should go to JUCO this year, so he can play. Then transfer for his junior and senior years.

Given our need at position, I would take a shot on him.
 
You would think this would be a no brainer. We are literally a Gerald Willis injury away from being an 8 win team due to the **** poor depth at DT.. And next year we are back in the same boat. Will be an interesting plot to follow. If Baez/Diaz/Simpson don't start following him within the next few days we know it aint happening.

But he would have to sit out this year so if we get him it won't help up this year.

Exactly my point. We are walking on eggshells this year hoping Willis or Ford don't slip on a banana peel and get significantly injured and ruin our season. Who wants to go through that headache next year all over again?

Why? He might as well stay at WVU if thats the case. Dude was their best defensive player to finish the season. He goes to a JUCO get barely any S&C and could fall off a cliff.

Come home to the Crib, sit out and get right for the come back.
 
When was the last time we had a freshman all American at DT?
Yet here we are thinking about offering a schollie to sandrr’s Bro.
This guy is a proven player that can improve our depth. So he has to sit out a year so what. We’re going 7v7 with the 3’s. Unacceptable.
At the very least next year we need everyone worried that anyone can take your spot.
Think ford or Willis are worried that their spot is gonna get taken? There isn’t a better motivator than having to look over your shoulder. And while we may land some big time DT recruits that still doesn’t promise that they will pan out. I though d Johnson was a slam dunk but it wasn’t. This guys is local and wants in and has produced.

kid is injured and wouldnt have played this year.. which is one of the reasons he is transfering.. will have to sit out regardless
