Florida's 10th-Ranked Defensive Tackle, Lamonte McDougle, De-Commits From Washington State - Football Recruiting - Scout

After weeks of deliberation with the ones closest to him, Lamonte McDougle has opted to dive back into the recruiting market by removing himself from Washington State's recruiting class on Thursday.

McDougle, the son of former NFL first round pick and Oklahoma offensive tackle, Stockar McDougle, is a 6-foot-1, 295-pound senior out of Deerfield Beach (Fla.) High that checks in as Scout's 27th-ranked defensive tackle in the South.

Washington State's head man, Mike Leach, was Oklahoma's offensive coordinator during the time McDougle's father suited up for the Oklahoma Sooners.

"Right now, I'm just going to de-commit and reopen my recruitment to all schools," McDougle told Scout. "I just felt that I was rushing into my decision and needed to take a step back to review all of my options."

Despite detaching himself from the Cougars' 2017 recruiting haul, McDougle says Washington State is the lone school that's actually managed to secure one of his official visit dates.

"The only one I have planned as of now is Washington State vs. Oregon (on Oct. 1)," McDougle said.
With that being said, does McDougle know of any additional suitors that will definitely be receiving official visits at some point?
"West Virginia, Syracuse and Kentucky," McDougle replied.

Can any recruitniks chime in on what they think? Passes the eye test to be a Coach Kool special in my book

Hmmmm.

On one hand, his twitter handle is lamontesavage....

On the other, if he's 6'1", then lots of those other kids in those clips are pushing 7 feet.

His uncle was a baller for Miami, so I will just say that UM should and in my opinion will pass on this youngman he is a to compact for what coach kool and coach diaz are building as the prototypical UM dlinemen. That 6'1" height listing seems generous. He should look at UCF & USF.

With spots in the 2017 class at premium there are more appealing options at other positions.

Lmao bro your constantly posting threads about 3 and 2 star recruits that Miami isnt even recruiting and you think they should pass on this kid because hes 6-1. Who cares if hes stopping the run and getting leverage at the line. Idgaf if hes batting down balls as long as hes got the QB on his back 2+ times a game. Finding 1 recruit out 500 that Miami just so happened to find as well, in a state golden knew very well, seems to make you a skilled scouter. I just dont get it.

sebringcanethang23 Do you feel better now that you have spewed all that bull crap.

Bottom line he is Miami's back yard and staff has know about him for a long time and decided to pass. As for the players I mentioned over the years please don't embarrass yourself by trying to denigrate them, most went on to if not play for the U, they played for other power 5 schools.

Also if UM was going to take a short dlinemen they would have a made a stronger push for 2017 DT Jordan Scott (whom I was the first to mention around here) who is now committed to UF along with 2017 DT Javier Edwards who was also the first to mention 2 years ago.

An for the record Jordan Scott is way better than Mcdougle, not to be taken as a knock on Mcdougle. So lets see, there are just 2 names that I have mentioned recently that are committed to one of the best dline coaches in the country (outside of coach kool) in Chris Rumph. But yeah I apparently don't know what I am talking about. Have a nice day bro, try harder next time!

Go Canes

LMAO... Let this serve as an example to any of you who question Paranos' recruiting acumen. His response will be swift and severe.

PS Have a nice weekend P-Man!

Between his unearthing of hidden gems recruiting videos to his snappy but eviscerating comebacks Paranos is quickly becoming one of my favorite posters.

Just playing sideline coach like most folks here. He has the height/weight combo (6'1 295). to make a good FB behind M. Williams

I hear he runs a 4.3 and has really soft hands. May use him at slot receiver behind Bruce and Berrios.

Take him! First bad evaluation we’ve seen so far. It’s going to happen time to time though...no one’s perfect.
