Florida's 10th-Ranked Defensive Tackle, Lamonte McDougle, De-Commits From Washington State - Football Recruiting - Scout
After weeks of deliberation with the ones closest to him, Lamonte McDougle has opted to dive back into the recruiting market by removing himself from Washington State's recruiting class on Thursday.
McDougle, the son of former NFL first round pick and Oklahoma offensive tackle, Stockar McDougle, is a 6-foot-1, 295-pound senior out of Deerfield Beach (Fla.) High that checks in as Scout's 27th-ranked defensive tackle in the South.
Washington State's head man, Mike Leach, was Oklahoma's offensive coordinator during the time McDougle's father suited up for the Oklahoma Sooners.
"Right now, I'm just going to de-commit and reopen my recruitment to all schools," McDougle told Scout. "I just felt that I was rushing into my decision and needed to take a step back to review all of my options."
Despite detaching himself from the Cougars' 2017 recruiting haul, McDougle says Washington State is the lone school that's actually managed to secure one of his official visit dates.
"The only one I have planned as of now is Washington State vs. Oregon (on Oct. 1)," McDougle said.
With that being said, does McDougle know of any additional suitors that will definitely be receiving official visits at some point?
"West Virginia, Syracuse and Kentucky," McDougle replied.
