I still don't understand how we took Weldon over James Blackman outside the connection Richt has with Weldon's father, I can not really see one thing that Weldon does better than Blackmon to be honest. Same with Dykstra and Hillery over T Slaton. My thing is you know the most about Slaton so how in the world as a head coach and former head coach you do not use it to your advantage and come up with a game plan to land Slaton. Paradise proved what I have been saying comparing Slaton to Leatherwood. Slaton is used to going up against quick twitch DEs everyday. All he needs is a weight room. Leatherwood is good and I like his potential long term better than Slaton but right now Slaton is better IMO. Also I would put Tony Gray and Caleb Chandler over Hillery. I am curious to see what Richt does with this DB class and OL class, IMO, for the DB class he should have hit transfers hard Jackson, Bethel, Smith, Cobb, to ease the pain off DB recruiting this cycle and next year depth. Relying on next year DBs on our current roster makes me nervous.

Slaton is a guard and isnt better than leatherwood at tackle. Richt wants to add more tackles to the roster. Also slaton has never been that interested in miami and those other guys are obviously not interested.

I hear what your saying but I am not following your logic and neither are coaches like Harbaugh. My thing is even knowing the kid likes basketball, why not use it to our advantage, other coaches will. Its a ton of first round picks that played basketball in college and also played AAU. DJ Matthews is also a good BBall player but that does not mean he is not focused on football as well.

Wright wants to play bball in college. He plays sg i believe and de in fball. Thats possibly a reason he hasnt added the weight you want your de to have.
